Brendon and Ronnie are having a 52nd episode spectacular by talking about the short-lived DC Comic's reboot The New 52! From it's early ambitions and success, to later churning of new titles and continuity problems, to the positive changes that are still present today -- the fellas talk about it all! Along the way, the two have a retro video gaming digression and declare that in 2025 every pun is intended. Brendon reports that the 9-and-unders of his local Little League aren't ready for the Bigs, and falls in love with a Silver Age character named Bat-Mite. Ronnie has a revelation about the Dodgers Spring Training facility, and reminisces on a time he met (and maybe freaked out) comics writer Brian Buccellato.

Brendon and Ronnie are excited for teams to report for Spring Training. Baseball is back, and the fellas are looking at win/loss projections, and making picks for which teams will actually make the overs. Along the way, the two share tales of meeting up for the Lunar New Year and watching the Royal Rumble, and make a case that new Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen is just three kids in a suit. Brendon believes this is one of the best times of year for a sports fan, and is disappointed in Gerrit Cole's fundamentals. Ronnie believes Pat McAfee is a great wrestling announcer, and has a theory as to why the Athletics might be better than expected this season.

Brendon and Ronnie are talking about the Big Game this week... well, not really. They do a lot of avoiding it. Along the way, the fellas discover that John Madden and Yogi Berra have similar quote styles, talk about how Tom Brady is easier to hate than Patrick Mahomes, and, of course, they mention the infamous Wardrobe Malfunction. Brendon recalls a time when the Giants of baseball had to play an away game on their home field and tells a tale of how the "Helmet Catch" scored him a hundred bucks. Ronnie is asked about his favorite Indiana Jones movie and he wonders who all get rings after the confetti falls?

Brendon and Ronnie are celebrating the Lunar New Year. Gung Hay Fat Choy! (or, Gong Xi Fa Cai!) They talk about the traditions, food, zodiac, red envelopes, and the mystifying Lion Dance. Along the way, Brendon reveals what Kirkland label beer is, mentions a tradition that might come back to haunt him after this episode, and recalls many times when he would kick cabbage at restaurant patrons for good luck... for them. Ronnie puts out hopes for the NFL playoffs that already haven't aged well, takes the Lunar New Year more seriously than regular New Years, and recalls one of his favorite memories of Brendon's father.

Brendon and Ronnie are still feeling their ages because 1995 was 30 years ago. They're looking back at albums that released in 1995, and in this episode they dive deep into some music that meant a lot to Brendon. Along the way, the fellas talk about how resistance to good music is futile, compare The Big Bang Theory without a laugh track to an existential nightmare, and have a couple of talking points that might sound familiar from last week. Brendon recalls sending his teenaged band's demo cassettes to record labels and how he discovered The Roots outside of a concert for something completely different. Ronnie knows the difference between a Fender Rhodes and a Wurlitzer electric piano, and has a dark realization about the movie Spanglish.

Brendon and Ronnie are feeling their ages because 1995 was 30 years ago. They're looking back at albums that released in 1995, and in this episode they mostly talk about "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" by the Smashing Pumpkins. Along the way, the fellas talk about how music can bond parents and children, make dark horse NFL playoff picks that have already aged poorly, and ask the important question: Do people still say "soda pop?" Brendon introduces Michelada Monday, explains what happened to the 49ers this season, and gives Ronnie a bass guitar. Ronnie tries to make sense of high school football summer practices, and he knows a lot about the Smashing Pumpkins. Seriously... a lot.

Brendon and Ronnie are celebrating the 50th season of Saturday Night Live! They manage to mention some of their favorite skits, casts, music guests, and hosts -- if you're thinking that's too much for one episode, you're right! (Stay tuned.) Along the way, Brendon asks how long we should acknowledge the New Year and remembers when Christopher Walken said the wrong emphasis in Foo Fighters. Ronnie thinks understanding street parking signs in LA counts as a second language and remembers when Eddie Murphy turned gibberish into one of the funniest sketches in SNL's long history.

Brendon and Ronnie are ushering in the new year by speculating wildly about sports in 2025! Along the way, the fellas trade their favorite instant ramen flavors, discuss the possibility of robot umpires in baseball, and fail to avoid talking about the Stanford Prison Experiment. Brendon predicts that the Giants will play their 19th different Opening Day Left Fielder in the 19 years since Barry Bonds retired, and Ronnie predicts the Giants will step forward with their new front office hire, Buster Posey. Brendon predicts that Mauricio Pochettino will bring U.S. Men's Soccer to play a more European way, while Ronnie predicts that James Gunn will bring Superman back to standing for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. -- OK, so they're not ALL sports predictions...

Brendon and Ronnie continue their tradition of honoring favorite jersey numbers with a special topic. And so for number forty-four (the Willie McCovey / Lewis Hamilton / Frankie Wong edition), Brendon takes the wheel to talk about some very, very fast cars. From the rules and scoring to famous drivers and tracks to the difference between Formula 1 and IndyCar; Brendon covers everything you need to know to watch a race without confusion. He also reveals the name of his own car! Meanwhile, Ronnie takes a bit of a back seat, providing the occasional question and telling the tale of how he once "survived" a tsunami. -- All of it within the two-hour race limit, too!

Brendon and Ronnie marvel at the astronomically large contract the New York Mets signed Juan Soto to, and then talk about some other needle moving transactions in sports history. Along the way the fellas discuss strategies for getting Pringles out of the lower half of a can and lament the failure of the extremely talented 03-04 Lakers. Brendon remembers how to get to the Cerritos Auto Square and breaks Ronnie's brain right before the break. Ronnie details his rational cynicism for a recent television commercial and his irrational dislike of Seattle.
