Wife and Daughter Died in a House Fire: His Inspiration. A tragic house fire claimed the lives of a wife and daughter, leaving their family and community devastated. On that fateful night, Jackie Montanaro, a federal law enforcement officer, and her 6-year-old daughter, Madelyn, perished while trying to escape the flames that engulfed their New Jersey home.
