In 2000 an anonymous poster by the name of Time Travel_0 began posting on Art Bells forum “Post to Post” that he was from 2036. An alternate time line in which civil unrest had sparked a limited nuclear exchange.  He was assigned to a governmental time- programs travel project, and sent back to 1975 to retrieve an IBM 5100 computer, which he said was to fix an issue in 2036.  As outlandish as it sounds many people believed the story.  We dive headlong into time travel and the multiverse as we try to understand this tale and other possibilities including aliens from the future.  In this episode of Wild & Weird Radio.

Cheryl, as a journalist, wrote the wildly popular UFO column “New York Skies” for SyracuseNewTimes.com (2013-2019). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Empire State College in Entertainment Writing and Production. At the height of the cold war in1947 something crashed near the small town of Roswell NM.  The nation had just been officially introduced to the flying saucer phenomena a month earlier and word spread that the strange wreckage recovered by a local rancher in the area was part of one of these flying disks.  The world-famous headline was released and one day later the entire story retracted and thus began what may be one of the first major Govt cover ups of all time.  Since then, there have been many more as a paranoid society embraced social media some of the more far out conspiracy theories began to have an even great audience and take on a new life of their own.  What’s the truth ? in 1964 Nikolai Kardashev proposed a hypothetical scale for measuring a civilization's level of technological advancement based on the amount of energy it is able to use.  A type one civilization for example would be able to harness the power of its planet, for humans the advancement of fusion or anti-matter reactors could lead to such a level.  Where a Type 2 could build megastructures that harness the power of their sun and a Type three would be able to literally rule their entire galaxy.  Anything beyond even to present day humanity which by the way rates in a negative on the scale would seem to validate the words of Arthur C Clarke when he stated “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”.  Join us in this highly speculative episode as we delve into some of the ideas surrounding these hypothetical advanced life forms.
