Jake also shares a story about Forrest Lucas after his passing was announced last week after the show. Plus, Jake discusses briefly the final preseason game for the Colts against the Bengals.   

(25:14-38:54) – The voice of IU football and men’s basketball, Don Fischer, makes his first of many appearance of the season on the program to recap his son’s first win of the high school football season on Friday, shares what he has heard thus far about Fernando Mendoza in comparison to what Kurtis Rourke did a year ago, highlights the wide receiver room for the Hoosiers, and identifies the interior offensive line as the unknown area on the football team.

(38:54-45:37) – The first hour of the program wraps up with Jake discussing his trip to Milwaukee for the IndyCar race. He recaps Christian Rasmussen’s first career win and his experience at the Milwaukee Brewers game.

(45:37-1:09:20) – Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison shift the focus of their conversation back to the Indianapolis Colts and how they might have shifted their thoughts on what they are wanting the quarterback to do. It all leads back to Chris Ballard and how long it’s taken him to address the position following Andrew Luck’s retirement.

(1:09:20-1:21:32) – Ed Carpenter, team president of ECR, joins Query & Company to celebrate his first team win in four years with Christian Rasmussen capturing the checkered flag yesterday in Milwaukee. He shares what he saw in Rasmussen when he decided to sign him, the situation between Rasmussen and Conor Daly in Portland a few weeks ago and reveals that Alexander Rossi and Rasmussen will be back next season.

(1:21:32-1:29:56) – The second hour of the program concludes with Jake discussing something he noticed during his game experience on Saturday at the Milwaukee Brewers game because it’s something that he has seen change over the years.  

(1:29:56-1:56:39) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 makes his weekly pitstop on Query & Company to access the quarterback position with Riley Leonard having a standout performance against the Cincinnati Bengals. Will the Colts trade Anthony Richardson? What would it take for the Colts to trade him? Mike weighs in on those questions and doesn’t envision any surprise cuts, or players making the roster once the initial 53-man roster is announced.   

(1:56:39-2:08:52) – Jake needs help with figuring out when things changed with people texting to ask if they can call you versus just calling you and then waiting to get a call back if someone doesn’t answer.

(2:08:52-2:17:56) – Today’s show closes out with JMV joining Jake in the studio to discuss his weekend in Milwaukee, the passing of Robin Miller being four years ago today, and the Alex Palou to Red Bull Racing in F1 rumors.
