  • TNE 23 The Dom Route

    Dan Andrews has taken the Dom Route in updating Victoria's reopening roadmap. With Dom Perrottet fast-tracking NSW's and now other states' return to normal he is becoming the Premier of Australia. That plus some new music remixes on this week's Tim's News Explosion.

    Dan Andrews on Sunday fast-tracked Melbourne and Victoria’s reopening at 70% double vaccinated adding home visits of up to 10 people. It will only be a recommendation that people gather in private or in public with those who are fully vaccinated, so Victoria Police won’t enter homes to check vaccination status. With outdoor gatherings now allowed for up to 15 people, we shall see if Victoria Police continue to crack down on any planned freedom protests.

    With Victoria beginning its reopening with close to 2k cases it’s been an almightly backflip from Dan who for most of the past 18 months chased covid zero. The reason for this is Dan’s polling was dipping as the harsh lockdown rules continued, demonstrating that we are still a democracy and this can be over if enough people want it to be.

    Dan has still said the new Mickleham quarantine camp will be used to house the unvaccinated, or victims of bushfires and other natural disasters, plus be ready for the next pandemic or if there is another variant. Victoria Police have stood down 43 members for refusing their vaccination mandate, the Victorian Parliament suspended 4 elected members for not disclosing their vaccine status.

    The turnaround in Victoria is thanks to the leadership of new NSW Premier Dom Perrottet who last Friday announced that the state was ready to welcome international travelers who are double vaccinated who would not need to quarantine with a negative test from November 1. However, Scott Morrison decided to put the breaks on and said only Australian citizens and residents and their families would be able to travel to and from Australia. Dom and his wife Helen announced they were expected their 7th child which invoked some nasty comments from left-wing feminists. Fr Rod Bower of the Gosford Anglican Church has claimed that Dom’s reopening will kill us all.

    In international news 69-year-old, British Conservative Sir David Amess was stabbed to death in a terrorist attack while taking part in a constituent surgery. A 25-year-old Somalian man was arrested and charged shortly after. Despite it being an Islamist-inspired terror attack online abuse against MPs has been blamed. With the Glasgow climate summit approaching teen climate activist Greta Thunberg decided to do some karaoke to Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up.

  • TTT 86 Lockdown Endgame

    With NSW beginning to reopening with hundreds of new cases per day and Victoria's lockdown not working it is lockdown endgame for the Tasman nations. Tim and Stephen also discuss the post-pandemic agenda of net-zero and speech suppression on this week’s Trad Tasman Talk.

    The current reopening of Australia to live with covid remains somewhat disjointed. You have New South Wales beginning to reopen but travel between Greater Sydney and Regional NSW will remain restricted until November 1, not when the state reaches 80% double vaccinated. The ACT reopened today but still has a border buddle with Southern Regional NSW. Victoria will allow residents who’ve been double vaccinated to return from NSW even though a lockdown still applies in most of the state. Southern Tasmania is entering a three-day snap lockdown due to a covid positive quarantine escapee.

    In New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern doesn’t know yet if the nation is going to live with covid as the Auckland, Northland and the Waikato level three lockdowns continue. The nation is having a super vaxx Saturday or vaxxathon in a sign the government is getting desperate to increase vaccination rates. The state of Queensland has previously used this strategy with its super Pfizer weekends, the state still has the equal worst vaxx rate in Australia and is now even having to throw out expired Pfizer doses.

    The crackdown on anti-lockdown protestors in Victoria continues with libertarian activist and educator Topher Field charged with incitement. The first New Zealander charged with organizing an anti-lockdown protest is Bishop Brian Tamaki. Local Melbourne communist Van Badham claims there is nothing wrong with democracy and freedom in Australia and all the footage the world has seen of local police brutality has been concocted. Secretary of the Victorian Trades Hall Luke Hilakari is demanding a Royal Commission into the far-right still blaming them for union members protesting against mandatory vaccinations back in September. Two Melbourne Demons supporters who snuck into Western Australia by forging to watch the Grand Final have been sentenced to three months in prison.

    Despite Victoria cracking the 2k case milestone this week, Premier Dan Andrews has recommitted to opening up when vaccination targets are reached. This could be in part to distract from the beginning of IBAC public hearings into Victorian Labor Party branch stacking where the anti-corruption body is investigating if taxpayer funds were misused for this party-political purpose.

    The post-pandemic policy agenda in Australia are turning to net-zero emissions by 2050. Prime Minister Scott Morrison is now going to the Glasgow climate summit to sign the nation up the target, he will no longer have to quarantine for two weeks when he returns. Also, the Morrison Government is looking at increasing the regulation of social media platforms to either ban anonymous accounts or make the platforms liable for defamatory comments posted on their sites since they act like publishers now.

  • Ep. 146 Victorian Hotel Quarantine Accountability

    With Victoria continuing to break all the wrong pandemic records the Andrews Government's list of failures in managing it continues. On this week's WilmsFront Ken Phillips returns to the show to provide an update on his campaign to hold the government accountable for its 2020 Hotel Quarantine Failures.

    Ken Phillips is the Executive Director of Self Employed Australia. In September 2020 he wrote to WorkSafe Victoria's Enforcement Division requesting they investigating the Victorian Government's Hotel Quarantine Failures of 2020 which led to the state's second wave which saw 801 Victorians die with Covid and Melbourne in lockdown for 112 days.

    A year later WorkSafe Victoria announced it was charging the entity of the Victorian Department of Health with 58 breaches of the state's Occupational Health and Safety Act. Self Employed Australia has launched a Not Above the Law Campaign, they have identified 142 breaches of OHS and complied a list of Victorian Government officials including the Premier who should be prosecuted for those breaches.

  • TNE 22 Watching Day

    It's been Watching Day for us here in Victoria on fronts: the first day of Freedom/Apartheid Day in New South Wales, and the first day of IBAC hearings into Victorian Labor branch stacking I replay today's highlights on this week's Tim's News Explosion.

    Because the restored freedoms in NSW today are only for the fully vaccinated many are instead calling today Apartheid Day or Segregation Day as even public and private gatherings are only permitted for the vaccinated. A proper freedom day in NSW won’t come until December 1 when the unvaccinated are allowed to participate again in society. If Premier Domonic Perrottet wants to live up to his values of freedom by December 1 he should also get rid of all mask mandates, QR code check-ins, and quarantine requirements. Businesses such as Rashays operated by Rami Ykmour are choosing to only reopen when they can welcome all customers in.

    The beginning of the NSW reopening has also been judgment day for lockdown fanatics and fun haters online sneering at people in Sydney shopping at Kmart and drinking beer in pubs. Some are so addicted to lockdown and fear that they wish the lockdown lifestyle was the new normal. Not all Australian progressive-leftists have turned into totalitarian police state lovers, former Race Discrimination Commissioner Tim Soutphommasane is perplexed why so many are now afraid of freedom.

    Having lost the argument for the endless use of lockdowns the covid doom establishment have now turned their attention to masking children in schools until they can be vaccinated. Pfizer now wants to get its vaccine approved worldwide for 5-11-year-olds, however, the head of ATAGI Professor Allan Chang has stated the approval for the vaccine in children is not as straightforward given that most children do not get seriously ill from covid so the risk of side effects like heart inflammation is greater than the risk of covid itself.

    Last Friday Dan Andrews received two $200 fines for breaking his own mask mandate. But that is now the least of his concerns with the state’s anti-corruption body IBAC beginning its public hearings streamed online into the alleged misuse of taxpayer-funded electorate staffers to engage in Labor Party branch stacking, The first day of hearings has already seen a resignation from Dan Andrews’ Cabinet with Luke Donnellan resigning after admitting he paid for other people’s Labor Party memberships.

    Over this past dark and mad 18 months in Australia's history, independent journalists have become the real news breakers for everyday people. My guest on this week's WilmsFront is independent investigative journalist Nick Holt to share with us what he has uncovered during this period.

    Nick publishes his investigative reports on his Australian Independent News Network on Substack, he hosts the Nick Holt Podcast available on Spotify and YouTube. On his podcast, he has interviewed Miranda Devine of the New York Post about the social media suppression and censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story in the lead up to the 2020 US Presidental Election. He has also interviewed Australian basketball legend Andrew Bogut who has been one of the leading voices of the celebrity counter-cultural revolution speaking out against the pandemic narrative and Melbourne’s record-breaking lockdown.

    On Substack Nick has published further details about the Victorian Government’s dealings with Communist China outside of the Belt and Road Agreement. During the recent Melbourne protests, Nick believes the special operations teams we saw as part of the Victoria Police response could be outside trained mercenaries. They could possibly be linked to the city being part of the Strong Cities Network.

    Nick and I also discuss this week’s local developments, he shares his view on Dom Perrottet’s rise to the NSW Premiership, and if delivers on his political philosophy of freedom by overseeing the state go back to complete normalcy. At the federal level, Nick believes there is now little difference between the two majors and predicts at the next federal election there will be a significant increase for pro-freedom minor parties.

  • TNE 21 Frenzy Peak
    With all the talk of curves and peaks this week with the world still continuing to watch our lives down under we saw our frenzy curve peak with resignations and even further mandates and complex rules. I untangle it all on this week's Tim's News Explosion.
    Melbourne, Victoria is now officially the world's most locked-down city, 246 days and counting. Despite strict rules as the curfew still remains in place cases have now reached over 1000 per day. The state government Health Department was last week charged with 58 charges of OHS laws by WorkSafe Victoria over the hotel quarantine failures that triggered 2020's 112 day Melbourne lockdown.
    Another anti-lockdown protest took place on Saturday organized by a new group called the VicFreedom Movement replacing Melbourne Freedom Rally whose organizer Harrison McLean was charged with incitement last week. The rally was peaceful until once again Victoria Police aggressively shut it down. Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has stood his ground defending the protestors from the protest week before who gathered at the Shrine of Remembrance.
    Despite Victoria's recorded case numbers Dan Andrews still promises the state will begin to reopen when reaching its mandatory vaccination targets. At his Sunday press conference, Dan trotted out a Melbourne nurse who echoed a claim made by a doctor in Alabama that patients are begging for the vaccine before being put on a ventilator. US big pharma giant Merck has developed a new covid treatment pill which some say appears similar to another one of their drugs ivermectin. 
    Health Minister Martin Foley's gaffe that 78% of Victorians in hospital with covid were vaccinated went virus. But it is true in NSW many elderly people are dying with covid despite being fully vaccinated. Isolation protocols at supermarkets in the state have finally been charged so all staff do not need to isolate for 14 days if a positive case comes into their and causing massive supply chain shortages.
    The crying and flowers outside soon-to-be-former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian continued all weekend following her resignation on Friday after ICAC announced it would be investigating her role in securing a grant for the electorate of her disgraced ex-boyfriend Daryl McGuire. If people overseas wish to understand why Australia is the way it is right now look at the reaction to a Premier resigning who has kept a city under a police state lockdown for 100 days. Polish MPs took part in a growing number of protests overseas outside Australian embassies condemning the nation's recent human rights breaches.
    The NSW Premier-elect Dom Perrottet has already been attacked because of conservative values of freedom and being a devout Catholic with six children. Some in the freedom movement have reservations about Dom because his father works for the World Bank. Dom would a hero if he modeled himself on Ron Desantis the Governor of Florida who has had the state completely open for the past year with no vaccine mandates and passports, Desantis also attacked Australia's lockdowns last week. Pro-lockdown anti-freedom zealots released a hilarious attack ad on Ron Desantis championing personal responsibility and individual liberty.

    An Australian political bombshell occurred today with NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian resigning. This was over ICAC confirming it would investigate a community grant she secured for the electorate of her disgraced secret ex-boyfriend Daryl McGuire. While her critics on the hard left and hard right celebrated her demise the Gladystans were in tears outside her electorate office laying flowers and comparing her resignation to the JFK assassination.
    Down in Victoria despite Melbourne to become the world’s most locked down city cases are soaring to record numbers in the thousands.     On this week's Tim's News Explosion: Norway joins the old normal club of nations, the latest NSW roadmap has again shown that the threat of passports was just a bluff. In Victoria, the police have crushed another round of protests.
    On Saturday morning after a week of protests triggered by the Andrews Government jab mandate for the construction industry Victoria Police arrested and charged Harrison McLean who operates the Melbourne Freedom Rally social media channels with incitement. Harrison joins Monica Smit of Reignite Democracy Australia as being another anti-lockdown activist sidelined by an incitement charge and strict bail conditions.
    The brutal Victora Police crackdown on the protests was beamed all around the world thanks to independent journalists like Rukshan Fernando livestreaming almost every day. Australia is quickly losing the moral high ground when it comes to attacking Communist China for its human rights record, Scott Morrison's address to the United Nations in New York about standing up for human rights lacked any self-awareness.
    Up in NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and her Deputy John Barilaro announced the next two phases of the state's reopening roadmap. It revealed that the unvaccinated will only be locked out of venues until December 1st which means that as was the case in the United Kingdom the threat of vaccine passports was only a bluff to get more people vaccinated. Gladys and John still say there will be discrimination against the unvaccinated in some form and CHO Dr Kerry Chant says life will never go back to 2019 normal. However, Norway has just gone back to the old normal joining its Scandanavian cousins Denmark and Sweden.
    Germany held its federal election on Sunday with Chancellor Angela Merkel not seeking re-election after 16 years in power. Her party the Christian Democratic Union lost its status as the largest party in the German parliament with the center-left Social Democrats being able to lead the next government with the German Greens coming in third as climate change dominated this post covid election.
