Who is Kerrod Williams:Hailing from the Western Sydney suburbs of Australia, Kerrod was raised on half-hour comedies thanks to the dark art of torrenting American television. Throughout the years, Kerrod was able to consume everything he could find, from mainstream shows like The Office, Scrubs, and Family Guy to under-appreciated classics (in his opinion) like Golan the Insatiable and Happy Endings. Kerrod used what he learned to form his own comedic voice and make others laugh. A voice that was a collage of everything he could download. Even if, at the time, it was only a defense mechanism for surviving social situations.After graduating high school, Kerrod formed a band with several other friends and began touring the country while studying pre-med. Several years later, Kerrod had dropped out of pre-med and received both a master's degree in information technology and a record deal for a band that had already broken up - so he moved to New York City.In New York, Kerrod was able to rediscover a love for making people laugh through sketch comedy and within 12 months went from Sketch 101 classes to writing for house teams across Manhattan, including Magnet Theater and Boogie Manja Sketch Collective. While sketch helped him rediscover his passion for comedy, it was writing his first spec script which led to Kerrod changing his career trajectory completely and enrolling in an MFA in Writing and Producing for Television.Now an MFA Graduate with multiple scripts and over a dozen accolades under his belt, Kerrod has newly arrived in Los Angeles and is ready to make his mark on the industry and join a writers’ room.
