Any time a law enforcement officer is behind bars it creates challenges for prison staff.

In the case of suspended Ashley police officer Mark Eric Icker, his stay in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility has resulted in an added hurdle: Protecting his food.

A source inside the prison told the Times Leader that Icker’s meals are being handled exclusively by staff after he complained that inmates mixed feces and other contaminants into his food.

A North Dakota mechanic has entered a guilty plea in federal court in relation to what the government charged was a fantastic plot to kill the president.

According to federal authorities, Gregory Lee Leingang, 42, of Bismarck, stole a forklift and entered a presidential motorcade route on Sept. 6, 2017, before Donald Trump arrived to give a tax reform speech at a Mandan Refinery.

Leingang was apprehended after the forklift got stuck in a gated area of the refinery. Questioned by police and U.S. Secret Service agents, he reportedly confessed to a bizarre plot.

Man Out On Bond After Targeting Toddler In Racist Attack

The Wichita Police Department says it arrested a man and is investigating an incident at an east Wichita Dillons store which has been described as a “racially motivated crime.”

31-year-old Trace Riff was arrested following the incident. According to police, Riff, who has a history of not reporting to parole officers, drug use and violent crimes, and is on probation in Oklahoma for a felony meth charge, was arrested on a count of “battery that was bias and racially motivated” and resisting arrest.

“Through the investigation, it was learned Trace walked into the store and kicked a 1-year-old victim in the back, causing the child to fall on the floor,” police say.

COLLIER COUNTY, FL (WTXL/RNN) - A Florida woman has been arrested after robbing a postal worker with a plastic toy gun and fleeing on a tricycle.

Leida Crisostomo, 52, of Naples, was arrested on Saturday by the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Naples Daily News, while being handcuffed, Crisostomo "yelled that she was God" and that "voices were telling her to do things."

They say Crisostomo stopped a U.S. Postal Service mail truck and stole a single package before fleeing the scene on a tricycle. The Naples Daily News reported Crisostomo also pointed the gun at a jogger.

(CNN)Lauren McCluskey was both concerned and frustrated when she called Salt Lake City Police on October 19.

A convicted sex offender whom she had met just a month earlier was continually harassing her after she ended their short relationship. But police at the University of Utah, where she was a student, weren't doing enough to put a stop to it, she said in a call to 911.

"I'm worried because I've been working with the campus police at the U, and last Saturday I reported and I haven't gotten an update," she told Salt Lake City Police dispatch.

"They haven't updated or done anything," she added.

That 911 call and one other from McCluskey were obtained by CNN just days after a review of the case from the Utah Department of Public Safety examined what could have been done differently to prevent her death.

GoFundMe Gives Refunds After Viral Campaign Found To Be A Hoax

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J.  — GoFundMe says it has refunded everyone who contributed to a campaign involving a homeless veteran from Philadelphia who prosecutors allege schemed with a New Jersey couple to scam donors out of more than $400,000.

Burlington County prosecutors allege in a criminal complaint that Johnny Bobbitt conspired with Katelyn McClure and her boyfriend at the time, Mark D’Amico, to concoct a feel-good story about Bobbitt giving McClure his last $20 when her car ran out of gas. They raised $400,000, which authorities say was spent on luxury items and casino trips.

Four men were arrested early Monday morning and accused of stealing more than $500,000 worth of Patron Tequila in Tampa, Florida.

Deputies say they found Vidal Estrada, Lemuel Escobar, Humberto Ramirez, and Alberto Obaya taking cases of Patron Tequila from a stolen semi-trailer after a driver found it was missing following a stop for dinner in Tampa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The men had allegedly already transferred 20 cases of the tequila to a box truck registered to them before deputies found them.
