This is part 2 of my conversation with Lou Koon, and as it turned out, was recorded AFTER we finished our original recording, which is now known as Part 1. I didn't stop recording as we continued conversing, and I think the conversation is worth sharing. But if you haven’t listened to part 1 yet, go listen to it! 

In this episode, Lou and I talk about facing the idea and action of suicide as a Christian. As Lou states, and I agree, we are body, mind, and spirit. And suicide forces us to think about life… after death. I know this could be controversial, but I think it is a conversation worth having, and the questions worth discussing. Because your life is worth it.

It was 2009 and his son had just suffered a tragic accident and had to be life-flighted to the hospital… among all the questions swirling through his mind, one of them was also how he would pay for all of this because he had no health insurance… because he recently found himself unemployed. Additionally, because the economy had crashed, there was little hope for him to find employment.

And as he lay in his bed all alone that night, contemplating it all, he remembered his $1 million dollar life insurance payout… Lou Koon, for the 1st time in his life, began to consider suicide.

In this episode Lou shares that painful time, how he survived, and how it led him to dedicate himself to suicide intervention.
