    That’s the clear message from Christine Hueber, today’s podcast guest.
    Christine is the CEO of ChristineHueber.com, #1 LinkedIn Top Female Expert of all time and has been part of the top 1% most viewed profile on LinkedIn. Her expertise has been mentioned in Inc., Mashable, Social Media Today, LinkedIn Small Business and AARP.
    So, if LinkedIn is going to be part of your marketing, then Christine is the lady to listen to.
    Christine starts with getting her clients to be very specific about their objectives on LinkedIn – so important as otherwise you will not get any traction.
    The focus then moves to being crystal clear about your ideal client – what is their precise profile? Then – what are their most urgent problems that they want fixed?
    Once that is sorted then Christine moves on to optimizing your profile to attract those said ideal clients, ensuring that your profile positions you as an expert in your field.
    Christine then talks about how to engage with these people – as humans!! The process is no different to the offline sales process where you must build relationships of trust.
    There is a ton of tips and strategies, so go here to listen to Christine.

  • Open Your Presentation with a Bang, Not a Whimper!

    Well, so says Steve Bustin , author of The Authority Guide to Presenting and Public Speaking, You need to grab their attention away from their mobile phones or other distractions, and you have about 10 seconds for them to determine whether you are worth listening to or not! No pressure.
    In his book Steve delivers to you the tools, tips and confidence to deliver engaging, creative and effective presentations.
    Steve has good form in this space. He is an award-winning speaker, was named the National Speaker of the year in 2015 by the Professional Speakers Association and also an award-winning journalist.
    This short book is a true treasure trove of great tips and strategies for the novice or the experienced.
    His must do’s include – learning the first 2 sentences off by heart (but no more!), recording first and listening back, then rehearsing in front of a camera (yes, we know no one likes that – ever!), using slides to enhance your presentation, not as a crutch.
    This is just a snippet of what Steve shares about public speaking and presentation, and you need to listen to the interview to grab more ideas and tips.
    Steve offers a template which I think is brilliant to structure your content that you can download for FREE, which he calls Fishbone Template.
    Steve starts his day taking care of his pets such as dogs and chickens; letting them out of the cage, feed them and makes himself a cup of tea. He says that he prioritises his animals first in the morning, and last thing at night – a great connection to nature.
    The book he recommends is “Back to Life” by David Rogers which is about how to manage back pain, but which Steve found very helpful as an overall approach to life.
    You can connect with Steve on the following:

  • Trust and Value: How Can They Separate You from the Competition

    A lady with high energy, high impact, high motivation and one who makes things happen. Friends, that is an accurate description of today’s guest, Meridith Elliot Powell, Founder and Owner of MotionFirst.
    An internationally certified coach, keynote speaker, and business development expert, Meridith is also an author of three books and recently signed with her publisher for her fourth book.
    In our conversation, Meridith elaborates on why she puts so much emphasis on “trust and value”.
    She also emphasizes the value of reputation and customer experience. She said further that it is not what you sell that differentiates you but it is your reputation and the experience you provide that separate you from the competition, which is true!
    She further narrates that many of your customer base don’t care about the value but they care more about the price. One can go and visit groceries or department stores and see what she is talking about.
    However, making your customer care about the value can easily be achieved if you, as an entrepreneur understands your customer base intimately, and then can add value based on that knowledge.
    Meredith also gives detailed insights on employee engagement, which is worth listening, really!
    One of her favorite books is the golden oldie, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.
    She starts her day with a 10-minute meditation and reads her goals card aloud.
    To learn more about Meridith Elliot Powell and how you can connect with her online, visit her website at valuespeaker.com. She would be more than happy to hear from you!
    This is such an info-packed conversation and I recommend that you listen to her and get to learn something from her insights.

    At 21, she started to read books in a serious way, listen to Podcasts, attend business conferences and getting into mastermind groups.
    She has had a couple of different business coaches who she credits with getting her to where she is today.

  • Start a Business by Buying a Business

    Today’s guest is Ace Chapman, a second-timer on Winning at Business and Life Podcast.
    Having Ace as my guest for the second time is a privilege that I was excited about!
    Ace has been an entrepreneur all his life and everything he does reflects that.
    He has built his business by buying established small businesses, and the key is in the word “established” as that is the foundation of his philosophy.
    He believes by doing this he is avoiding the pitfalls of the “early starters”. It’s hard to argue with him when you see his results!
    In his pursuit of sharing his expertise and being able to help others improve their lives, Ace started offering his services to individuals, small businesses, and private equity firms; educating them on how to buy income-producing businesses that increase their income.
    As to his favorite book, Ace says he finds Ling Texas Business Raider fascinating due to its amazing story.
    His daily routine starts at around 8:00am with a bottle of water, some stretching, a little bit of meditation, his daily dose of yogurt and some bulletproof coffee.
    If you are someone who has been looking for a great business opportunity and could not seem to find any, or doesn’t know which way to go, then this something worth listening to!

  • Your Time is Worth Way More Than $15

    Today's guest is Gina Catalano, who hails from Southern Arizona. She is also the Founder of Ventures Solutions, a Consulting and Coaching company that focuses on small businesses and their leaders.
    She is the Author of the Amazon best seller Tandem Leadership: How Your #2 Can Make You #1.
    In this conversation, Gina agrees that many entrepreneurs' #1 mistake is doing tasks that they like doing without considering the amount of money it costs them. Many business people think they cannot afford to hire somebody and they end-up doing a $15/hour tasks, without realizing that their time is worth way more than that. Unfortunately, many don't see it that way.  She mentions how my previous blog resonates with this principle.
    She emphasizes on the importance of hiring people who are expert on doing specific tasks than doing them yourself.
    According to Gina, discipline is just a matter of decision and action; so instead of wanting success, practice success. If one wants to be an entrepreneur, become an entrepreneur. Just like a child who wants to learn to walk, they get-up and they fall a thousand times.
    Gina is fascinated with Leading Change by John Kotter, which she re-reads every few years and finds it  timeless and hitting the mark.
    And just like many successful entrepreneurs, her daily rituals include waking-up between 5:00 and 5:15, meditate every day for 20 minutes and workout before starting her day around 7:30am; a routine that she has been doing for 5 years.
    Gina is very generous and wants to share a FREE copy of her eBook for Winning at Business and Life audience. Head to  tandemleadershipbook.com/winning to download yours.

    Today’s guest is Craig Ballantyne, whom I have been looking forward to having on my podcast for quite some time. He is a fascinating individual who is a productivity and success transformation guru and originally hailing from Ontario, Canada.
    Craig is also the Author of Perfect Day Formula – How to Own and Control Your Life.
    In 2001, he created the Turbulence Training program, geared towards getting people exercise at home. He did a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and started writing for Men’s Health Magazine.
    While building his fitness business, he hired a coach in 2006 and realized his biggest regret – having waited for quite too long to hire a business coach! Having one brought him exponential results and he advises everyone who is in business to get a coach as soon as they can.
    In 2006, the first question his business coach asked him was what did he think his business would look like in 5 years and he answered he wanted to have one like Early to Rise, a very popular newsletter.
    In 2010, a friend asked him what did he want his future career to look like. And again, his answer was to have something like Early to Rise.
    Six months later, his friend was at a seminar with Mark Ford, the owner of Early to Rise who mentioned that he wanted to stop doing the business. His friend was quick to tell Mark about Craig being interested to buy the business.
    Exactly 5 years, 3 months and 17 days after he answered his business coach he wanted his business to be like Early to Rise, he bought Early to Rise from its owner, Mark Ford.
    Having been hands on in running his businesses, Craig shares the 5 pillars of success, which are:

    * Better planning and preparation
    * Professional accountability
    * Social support
    * Meaningful incentive
    * Deadline

    Craig’s favorite book is the Art of Living by Sharon Lebell, a classical manual on virtue, happiness and effectiveness.
    Just like many of highly-successful individuals, his daily rituals include waking up early and focus on his #1 priority, which he calls his Magic time. It’s a time of the day where in an hour or two, he gets 3x work done than any other time of the day. He explains further that if ever he starts writing before 6:00am, he would be able to write 2000 words that will take him the whole afternoon if he starts doing it at 2:00pm.
