“The way we choose to see the world, creates the world we see” - Barry Neil Kaufman
I saw this quote this morning and it got me reflecting over some events that transpired this weekend which got me thinking about another saying I often say to people in my life “You may think I see it all, but I only know what I know, when I find out how much I didn’t know”. To me, that is the essence of life. How we decide to view and react to each and every event that occurs on a daily, creates the overall world we see and experience. Seeing the good with the bad, the smile with the sad; taking lemons and making lemonade, every single day.
Lemons are sour and people rarely eat them by themselves (with the exceptions of my dad and grandson who seem to enjoy the taste of lemons), but when mixed with other ingredients make some amazing and flavorful dishes! We have to do the same with the lemons or less than desirable situations in our lives. I decided when I was younger I was going to enjoy the lemons of my life, and as I grew and life kept throwing lemons, I learned the discipline and tools necessary to always have my lemons taste good, or to have every situation come out with a desirable result.
This brings to me a situation that occurred to me on Saturday. Life hit me with a big lemon, and I used what I know about life to take control of that situation and make some not so bad tasting lemonade! Tune in for details on a crazy yet entertaining life experience!
