Last week's message hit a nerve with many of you. I hear you. When I first learned that God did not make me sick, it hit a nerve with me, too. A big nerve!

So, today I'd like to dig a little more deeply into the topic of healing. Why? Because I know that many of you reading this post or listening to this podcast are dealing with sickness. Some of you, with serious sickness. And some of you have been dealing with sickness for a long, long time.

If you're like me, you were taught that sickness comes from God and that, when it does, we simply have to lie down and take it. We have to accept it as His will. If that's true, then something is wrong with this logic. Consider this: If sickness is God's will, then going to a doctor violates God's will and is sin. Yet, what's the first thing we do when we feel sick? We go to a doctor.

In fact, you may have also been taught that God uses sickness to teach us a lesson. While I won't deny that we learn some things when we're sick, sickness is not God's method of teaching us. His Word is.  In Ephesians 4: 26, we learn that God teaches us through His Word. He washes us and cleanses us through His Word. His Word is His pedogagical method.

What parent would make his child sick in order to teach him something? Not a single one I know. Then why would God, the perfect parent, make anyone sick? It just doesn't make sense.

So the question remains: where does sickness come from? The answer is that sickness—and everything evil—comes from Satan. Satan is the source of all evil, not God. Yet God is the first one to be blamed in the face of evil. I often say that God is the most maligned person in the universe when, in truth, He is the most wonderful, loving person in the universe.

But Satan has deceived the world into thinking that God causes evil. How often have you heard someone say that God took his loved one? That God made him sick? That God caused a tragedy? All of these are blatant lies perpetrated by Satan to cause us to doubt God's goodness.

So why then, do people get sick? Here are three reasons:

1. Sickness is a result of the fall of Adam and Eve. Their sin corrupted human genetics, making it vulnerable to the attacks of Satan. You see, sin always opens the door to Satan. Sin is the way Satan gains a foothold in our lives. When we sin, we invite Satan in.

2. Sickness often results from disobeying God. When we disobey God, we willfully remove ourselves from His protection. And when we move out of the realm of God's protection, we move into the realm of Satan's attacks. 

3. Sickness can result from the curses we speak upon ourselves.

There is a common misconception among people that bad things come from God. I often say that God is the most maligned person in the universe! Imagine how you would feel if someone accused you of making him sick or of bringing some tragedy upon his life. Well, God is a person and He has feelings, too. So the next time you're tempted to blame God for bad things, think twice.

When we think of bad things, sickness is at the top of the list. Just as God does not cause evil, so does He not cause sickness. Sickness comes from Satan, period! When Adam and Eve yielded to Satan's temptation, sin and sickness entered the world. And they've been here ever since!

But the good news is that Jesus Christ freed us from sin and sickness when He died for us and rose from the dead. The Bible tells us that the Blood of Jesus shed on the Cross paid the penalty for our sin. The stripes He took on His back in the scourging at the pillar paid the price for our sickness. Jesus took 39 stripes--or lashes--on His back. Interestingly, there are 39 categories of disease as outlined by the medical profession. So Jesus took a lash for eve ry category of disease, which means that He covered every disease.

When we take Holy Communion, we take both bread and wine. The bread represents the lashes that Jesus took on His back in payment for our sickness. The wine represents the blood He shed in payment for our sin. Bread and Wine. Blood and Lashes. Healing and Forgiveness. Both are in the Atonement.

Have you ever wondered why it is easy for people to accept God's forgiveness but difficult to accept His healing? The reason is that forgiveness has been taught more than healing. And the Bible says that faith comes by hearing. What we hear often enough we will eventually believe.

Healing has not been taught in our churches as a rule. In fact, there has been much preaching against healing. Some pastors have taught that healing is not for today, that it ended with the Apostles. But the Bible says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The Bible also says that Jesus loves all people equally. So why would He heal people back then and not heal us now? Why would He not heal today if He never changes?

If we just used our heads, we'd see the fallacy in the teaching that healing is not for today.

Perhaps as you read or listen to this message, you are in need of healing. If so, I would like to pray for you now.

Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I come to You on behalf of the person reading or listening who needs healing. With the authority You have given me in Your Name,

I grew up in a very legalistic denomination where the concept of salvation by works was given equal importance as the concept of salvation by grace. This false teaching caused me great spiritual distress over the years and placed unnecessary burdens on me, resulting in bondage that took me a long time to get rid of.  

So what are some of the signs of a legalistic spirit?

1. Perfectionism. People under bondage to legalism tend to be perfectionists who are hard on others and even harder on themselves. This is also called "performance syndrome." Such people think that if they just do a bit more—for example, read the Bible more, pray more, do more good works—they will earn God's approval and His love.  They have trouble accepting a free gift, any gift for which they did not work, at least in part.

2. Lack of assurance of salvation. Those in bondage to legalism often doubt their salvation because they feel they have to do good works in order to be saved. They do not understand that their good works profit them nothing as far as getting into heaven is concerned. Good works determine our rewards only after we get into Heaven. But legalists have difficulty accepting that truth.

3. Difficulty overcoming sin. A person in bondage to legalism has trouble accepting God's grace. The legalistic person has the attitude that there's no free lunch, even when it comes to salvation. Well, he's right that there's no free lunch, but he fails to understand that Jesus paid for our salvation by dying on the Cross and rising from the dead.

4. A critical spirit. Legalists often criticize those with whom they don't agree. This critical spirit stems out of a failure to receive God's unconditional love. 

5. Bondage to religious tradition. Legalists believe that repeated practices and protocols win them favor with God and, hence, entrance into Heaven. They resist change because, as they say, "This is the way we've always done it."  While God is unchangeable in His essence, He is not opposed to doing new things. 

There is a certain degree of pride in the person bound to legalism. That person believes that the Lord's sacrifice was incomplete—not enough to save him—and that the person himself has to earn at least part of his salvation. This is heresy. 

Also, the legalistic person has not yet grasped that God loves him unconditionally, probably because his earthly father or mother did not love him unconditionally. The legalistic person, therefore, feels that he must continually strive to earn the grade.

My younger daughter was married two weeks ago to a wonderful, Godly man in a beautiful ceremony. The officiating pastor gave a wonderful message on the three C's of marriage: Companionship, Commitment, and Covenant. I would like to expound on that message here and add another C: Communication.

Let's explore each of these four C's of a great marriage one by one.

1. COVENANT. The most important point about a marriage is that it is a covenant. A covenant is more than a contract. According to Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary, the precursor of today's Webster's Dictionary, a covenant is "a binding agreement." In other words, a covenant imposes an obligation on the part of each party to keep the agreement until the death of one of the parties.

Whereas a contract involves two people, a covenant involves three: the man, the woman, and God. Because God is involved in a covenant, it is deemed by Him to be unbreakable. Hence, His warning in Mark 10: 9 NASB: "Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate.” A covenant, therefore, is sealed with a vow before God to honor the covenant until death. 

2. COMMITMENT. The strength of a marriage depends on the integrity of the husband and the wife to remain committed to the marriage no matter what the cost of that commitment. Every marriage will have its trying times. Trials are part of God's plan to conform us to the image of Christ. Just as making a muscle strong requires repeated resistance, so does making a marriage strong require repeated trials. 

One of the most important lessons I've learned about marriage and about life, in general, is that God's goal for us is not our happiness but our holiness. Trials help to make us holy if we maintain the Biblical perspective toward trials. Trials are for our spiritual growth. But whether we grow or not through our trials depends on our attitude toward them. 

Something amazing happens when we resist and overcome trials. We not only become holy; we also become happy.

3. COMMUNICATION. Good communication is key in cultivating a good marriage. The Bible is full of principles for good communication. Here are a few of them:

__James 1: 19 - "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." 

__Proverbs 10: 19 - "When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise."

__Proverbs 12: 18 - "Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."

4. COMPANIONSHIP. When the three elements above--Covenant, Commitment, and Communication--are put into practice,

Today I have a very special surprise for you. I’m so excited to welcome on this podcast this week my awesome husband Dr. Dominic Diorio.  Dr. Dom is a retired E.R. physician who, during his retirement, has become quite an expert on End Time Prophecy.  And today, we are going to discuss some of the topics related to the End Times.  Welcome, sweetheart, Dr. Dom!

Dr. Dom: 

Hey!  It’s great to be here for my very first podcast.  Uh-I’m a novice at this, so if my voice cracks, you’ll understand why.  I have to laugh every time MaryAnn introduces me as an "expert."  I try to remind her that "expert" comes from two words: “ex” is an old has-been and a “spirt” is a drip under pressure.  So, every time she introduces me as an “expert”, we chuckle.

Dr. MaryAnn: 

So, get ready for some good humor and fun during this podcast. All right, let’s begin.  Our first question is “Where do you think we are on God’s timetable and why?”

Dr. Dom: 

That’s an interesting point.  I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this, a lot of reading and pondering, and it is my opinion that we are in the end of the times, we are in the end time. Uh-I read Genesis—Genesis chapter 6 verse 3--when God says He’s fed up with man – I’m paraphrasing. He’s fed up with mankind and He is going to give them 120 years.  I initially thought that that was before the flood because it took Noah maybe 100 or so years to build the arc, and I thought that that was what He was referring to.  But the more I think about that, God knew that after the flood Noah and  his family would survive and would go on to generate more people. So, the more I went to that in prayer, I think what God was saying, I’ve come to the conclusion that what God was saying was He was going to give man 120 Jubilee years.  And a Jubilee year is 50 years.  So, if God gave man 120 Jubilee years, that’s 120 times 50 or 6000.  And we are in the 6000th year since the creation.  So I believe that we are very close to the end times.

Dr. MaryAnn: 

Wonderful.  OK, next question. You know that today a lot of people are eschewing the validity of the Bible.  They are saying that the Bible is just an ancient book and that it really doesn’t have any more validity than that.  So let me ask you, why do you believe the Bible?

Dr. Dom: 

I believe the Bible is God’s book of instruction for life.  I believe that because in the Bible there have been approximately 2500 prophecies that are listed.  The Bible is a huge book of prophecy.  Of those 2500 prophecies, about 2000 of them have come to pass.  There is a whole list of Bible prophecies that have been realized so far.  Just to name a couple of them, in Micah chapter 5 verse 2,

God's mercy is amazing. But so is God's judgment.

God's mercy is for those who repent of their sin. But God's judgment is for those who do not.

Since the time of Christ on earth, we have been in a period called "the Age of Grace." That period was determined by God to last 2000 years. The 2000-year period is almost up. We are nearing the end of the Age of God's Grace and about to enter the Age of God's Wrath.

The big problem is that few people are paying attention. 

All around us, people are caught up in the things of this world.  Money. Jobs. Careers. Family. Sports. Entertainment. Pleasure. Yet, God is clearly speaking. He is continually trying to get our attention.

How?

Here are a few ways:

1) Through signs in the Heavens and in the Earth.  In Luke 21: 25-28, the Bible says this: "There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among the nations, bewildered by the roaring of the sea and the surging of the waves. Men will faint from fear and anxiety over what is coming upon the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

In the past several years, we have witnessed blood moons, solar eclipses, unusual planetary alignments, severe storms, an increasing number of earthquakes, strange weather patterns--all containing a warning message from God that He is calling the earth to repentance. But few there are who are noticing and interpreting these signs as warnings from God.

There is a telling verse in 1 Chronicles 12: 32 about a group of men who had defected from Saul to join David, the rightful king of Israel, in Hebron. These men, sons of Issachar, knew how to read the signs of the times and to interpret them:  "From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take."

Notice what happened when the sons of Issachar paid attention to and understood the signs of the times. They were able to advise Israel regarding the best course for the people to take.  We, too, need to pay attention to the signs God is sending us so that we will know the best course to take.

2. Through the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.  If we study the Bible, we will soon notice that what is happening in our world today--politically, economically, socially,

When we say that something is skewed, we mean that it is slanted or off-center in some way.  So, the word "skewed" as used in the title to this week's message means "to be off center."

We speak of picture frames that are skewed if they are leaning to one side on a wall. We also speak of ideas that are skewed when they are off-center.

But, in order to know if something is off center, we must first know center. And how can we know center? In order to know center, we need a tool or a standard which shows us what center is. Then, when we've determined what center is, we can determine what is off-center.

Let me illustrate. When my husband and I built a home years ago, we hired a general contractor to supervise the construction work. As the men put up the walls, they frequently used a level to measure if the walls were straight or not. They did the same thing with the doors and the windows. They used the level to determine if the windows and doors were installed straight, or if they were leaning to one side, or skewed.  Every level the men used was exactly the same and worked the same way. So, every measurement was accurate, and the house was built straight.

Now, imagine if each workman decided to make his own level his own way because he did not like the level provided by the general contractor.  One workman's level would show the wall as being straight, while another workman's level would show the wall as being crooked, or skewed.

Or, imagine if one workman used a ruler of 12 inches to a foot while another workman used a ruler of 15 inches to a foot. As you can quickly see, the result would be mass confusion. 

If you haven't recognized it yet, this is exactly what has happened in our culture. Each person is using a different ruler or level, and the result has been mass confusion and chaos.

When each person uses a different rule of measurement, this is called Relativism. Applied to a society, relativism is the view that each of us can decide for himself what is true and what is false, what is right and what is wrong.

For example, if Jody decides that abortion is wrong but then has an abortion, she is doing wrong. But if Mary decides that abortion is not wrong and has an abortion, she is not doing wrong because her standard says that abortion is not wrong.  So abortion could be right for one person and wrong for another at the same time.

In a relativistic society, therefore, each person determines his own morality. Eventually and inevitably, those differing viewpoints will come into conflict with each other.

If you have not yet heard of "The Great Reset." you will soon. In today's post, we will explore this topic and expose the lies at its foundation.

So, what is The Great Reset and why do you need to know about it?

The Great Reset is the name given to the 50th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, in 2020. Convened by Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, and the World Economic Forum (or WEF), this meeting brought together top business and political leaders from around the world for the purpose of taking advantage of the then current COVID crisis and to use that crisis as the launching pad for creating the New World Order.  

The stated goal of the 2020 World Economic Forum meeting, as published on the official WEF website, was “to overcome income inequality, societal division and the climate crisis.” This remains the WEF's goal, and they are pursuing it with relentless passion.

While, at first glance, the WEF's goal may sound noble, it is rooted in deception. In truth, the nice-sounding terminology masks anti-Biblical lies whose ultimate purpose is to enslave humanity and to usher in the New World Order under the brutal dictatorship of the Anti-Christ.

A frequent expression used by the Great Resetters is "Never let a crisis go to waste." Interestingly, one of the chief topics discussed at the 2020 Conference was how best to use the COVID-19 pandemic and the theory of climate change to reset global structures. Klaus Schwab, current CEO of the World Economic Forum, said this in a statement posted on the official World Economic Forum website: “The pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world.”  

Reflect. Reimagine. Reset.

What the Great Resetters mean by these words is not what most people mean by these words. The Great Resetters want to turn our world into a global kingdom where we own nothing and are happy. A kingdom where they call all the shots and we call none. A kingdom where we do what they say or we die. 

The social structures included in their nefarious reset goals are education, health care, finance, and energy production, among others. The aim of the World Economic Forum is to restructure our world according to a model that makes the liberal, wealthy élite rulers over the rest of us.

Those who promote the Great Reset are brazenly open about the fact that they want to control every human being in every aspect of his life. For the past two years, we have already witnessed and experienced that control infiltrate our daily lives in the form ...

What is gaslighting? And what does it mean to gaslight people? It means to manipulate them by psychological means into doubting their own sanity. 

Gaslighting is a malicious attempt to control people psychologically by giving them false information to make them think that what they believe is nonsense and that they are crazy for believing it. Gaslighting tries to get its victims to doubt what they know and believe is true about God, about the Bible, about others, and about themselves. Gaslighting attempts to thrust its victims into a confused state of doubting their perception, their memory, and even their mental health. Gaslighting even tries to make them think that they are going insane.

Gaslighting attacks a person at his very core, causing him to doubt his identity, his worth, his common sense, and his good judgment. If the gaslighting continues indefinitely, the victim will fall ever more deeply into the lie and become inescapably entrenched in it.

Gaslighting is another name for mind control or brainwashing. And this technique is being used by globalist leaders and politicians both in the United States and around the world. Sad to say, most people are oblivious to what is being done to them. 

Gaslighting presents and pushes false narratives as truth. And whoever does not accept these false narratives is criticized, ridiculed, and even ostracized as being an enemy. 

So, how, specifically, are we being gaslighted and by whom?

One of the chief--if not the chief--proponents of gaslighting is the World Economic Forum. This organization has been creating false narratives and presenting them as truth. 

Here are some examples of false narratives being promulgated as true by the gaslighters of the World Economic Forum, headed up by Klaus Schwab, and by other globalist leaders:

1--The false narrative of clean energy, such as solar power and wind power. While the sun and the wind are, indeed, sources of power, they are not reliable sources of power nor are they clean sources of power. We cannot tell the sun when to shine, nor can we make the wind blow at will.

As Lucas Toh writes in an article titled "Let's Come Clean" and dated October 26, 2021, "Environmentalists have been telling us that wind and solar mean cheaper, cleaner energy. They herald a future of electric vehicles quietly zipping around on electricity that created thousands of green jobs. If all of this is true, why are we suffering from a global energy crisis just months after adding record amounts of new renewable capacity?"

Hello and Happy Day! This is Dr. MaryAnn Diorio, novelist and life coach, welcoming you to another episode of Winning with the Word. Today is Monday, June 13, 2022, and this is Episode #24 of Series 2022. This episode is titled "Social Gospel or Salvation Gospel?"

Are you wondering what has happened to the Church? It seems to have gone crazy, like the rest of the world. 

But, let me assure you, the true Church of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is alive and strong. It still adheres to the true Gospel. It still proclaims the true Gospel. It is called the Remnant Church.

And it will never go away! As Scripture promises in Matthew 16: 18, "The gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."

At the moment, you may not be able to see much of the true Church, but I assure you, it is active and moving and powerful and strong!

So, what's going on? Isn't what the world knows as the "Christian Church" the true Church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

Tragically, no. What the world sees as the Christian Church is, in reality, the Apostate Church. I call it the "Church of the Great Falling Away," described as follows in the Book of Second Thessalonians, chapter 2, verses 1 through 3:

"Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had

come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition . . . ."

This extensive "falling away " is what we are witnessing now in the so-called Christian Church--the Apostate Church. I am specifically referring to the following teachings that the Apostate Church is promoting:

1__Abortion is a woman's right and is okay. In fact, some apostate churches are even calling abortion "sacred." Talk about perverse thinking! These so-called "justice-oriented people of faith" are calling murder sacred. 

One such organization is the Spiritual Alliance of Communities for Reproductive Dignity (or SACRed). This organization promotes abortion as sacred to human dignity. No mention of or thought given to the sacred dignity of the child in the womb. The innocent victim of murder. Such deceptive thinking is what the Bible means when it says that in the last days, people will call evil good and good evil. 

2__Homosexual marriage. Apostate churches are sanctioning and blessing marriages between two people of the same gender. This is an abomination in God's sight and clear defiance of His Word. Listen to what God Himself says about it in Leviticus 18: 22 NCV:  "You must not have sexual relations with a man as you would a woman. That is a hateful sin." 

In 1 Corinthians 6: 9,
