just some funking fun... and a bit of an experiment with using the great IKmm Modo Bass as a bass (heard clearly in the left channel ) and as a distorted rhythm guitar (heard in the right channel )

Just as I started my Funk 'Deep Dive' around 2010, I had started working on riffs and even full tracks that would eventually become the full albums: "Four Horses" and "Tales from a Second American Revolution". "Funking Around" was one of those early half finished tracks that I reopened the other night and dropped about 2.5 more hours into work on the project (bringing the total time spent to around 3.5 hours) . Three different Slayer VST guitars (two running through IKMultimedias "Amptitude" amp sim, and the "accent " guitar is running through image-lines "Hardcore" amp sim) interplay with a bass (A Funk 'Modo Bass' modeled bass based on a Rickenbacker solid body bass) and a "Sawer" soft-synth and some very jazz fusion drums to bring this track to life...

A first pass at a revival of this classic funk song by the Brothers Johnson. This track once again shows off the amazing modeled bass 'modo bass' by IKMultimedia, again i run various 'ghosting' midi based lines to greatly very the main bass line.... gives that off beat and or syncopated 'pop'

Early test track for the final piece of my seven plus year project: "Gods of the Ancients". still very much a WIP

This project began as potential backing music for last years "Nova" and then took on life on its own as "N727" (a reference to the generation and mix number of the composition: Composition 7, Variation 2, Mix 7)

Now with added epic piano lines it finds life on its own as a new entity which told me upon first listen: "I am to be called : 'The Gaia Circuit and the Tree of Life' " ... well it did... ;) I can't name hundreds of songs without asking them for their input from time to time ;) despite the previous somewhat jovial background, those close to me know that this song bears a very strong and significant title which is fully justified by the musical content and complexity of production of this song--Three different DAWS generating 5 separate compositions were worked into this track over a period of about two years...a lot of creative energy was invoked...

Originally not released, 747 serves as "the backbone" for my Uber Epic "The Gaia Circuit and the Tree of Life... This is version of 747 brings up the piano in the mix... a lot...

After a while, you start naming for the song number in the catalog they are ;) ... ok name is deeper than that... This track is built around the original 'study' track for "Nova"... but honestly, it really is released song number 74X or 7XX, definitively in the 700s... I think this one has bit off in the spectrum of the mix, so I will be addressing that soon...
