With a strong history of local soccer at multiple levels, the Omaha and Council Bluffs Metro area is excited to welcome the CB Captains Football Club for their inaugural season starting in the fall. They have appointed Head Coach Brian Locke, who has a rich history of playing and coaching soccer, along with his experience with the Omaha Kings FC that has made a name for itself in the Major League Indoor Soccer league. The team will also leverage connections with other local teams like Union Omaha to help grow the soccer community in the area. Growing up, deciding to pursue a career in sports beyond high school can be a tough decision for many young athletes. However, if you can explore other areas of sports, it may help you discover your future sooner than later. JD Snover is a former Nebraska Prep from Westside and the current Sports Director of Drake University Broadcasting. He knew that his love for sports could take him in a different direction, but he still wanted to be involved in covering sports, not just during his high school days but also at Drake. JD's journey with both the men's and women's Drake Bulldogs teams will take him to places he could only imagine, especially with his most recent trip back home to Omaha at the CHI Health Center. He has spent many days before college watching the local Creighton Bluejays, but this time, it was for the Bulldogs game in the 2024 March Madness tournament, surrounded by friends and family.

I am grateful for the opportunity to share the updated story of Norris Titans and the current LSU Baseball Signee, Kale Fountain. Two years ago, we shared his story on a family episode that included his father, Mike Fountain, and his brother, Bryce Fountain, who is currently a Nebraska Baseball Signee. A lot has happened with Kale's growth both on and off the field. His hard work has produced more opportunities, especially after he flipped his recruitment from Florida State to LSU, as the FSU coaching staff had an overhaul. Considering the values he holds for his family, it wasn't an easy decision to first commit to Texas A&M, but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith to reach greatness, turned out, bringing him back home. And boy, did Max soar! He went on to hear his name called in the MLB draft - a moment of pure joy and validation for all the hard work he's put in. We talked with Drew Darnold, a Papillion La-Vista South Titans Athlete, about his growth in his soccer game, school activities and personal life. Drew shared how he utilized his coaches, parents, teammates, and friends to continue pushing himself to be the best in making the biggest decision for his life. It's not always easy for high school students, especially when they have D1 or D2 offers on the table.  Would knowing where we both started make you more interested in listening to our stories? Our paths to our current sports coverage positions are similar but different in many ways. Understanding and listening to the reasons and whys behind our journeys open up possibilities rather than disappointments. Hurrdat Sports radio host Ravi Lulla didn't get to where he is today by taking the easy or direct route, one might think, but he feels he is right where he is supposed to be after a 10-year journey as a local fill-in talent.
