I’ve been guilty of not being in the moment and just going to an event or hiking a trail without really stopping to take it in.  I think that the whole reason we seek to get outdoors is to get away from our busy lives.  But if we don’t take the time to be in the moment, aren’t we missing the whole point of being outdoors?  That’s why I want to offer some times on how to be in the moment more and get the most from your outdoor.

One of the easiest things to do to get outdoors in Wisconsin is going bird watching. Wisconsin is filled so many different types of birds and as the seasons changes so does the bird population. This week I’m talking with Lori Schubring, the owner of Wild Birds Unlimited in Wausau about our winter birds as well as the growing hobby of backyard birding.

We know how to have fun in Wisconsin during the winter. One of those fun traditions is the American Birkebeiner. Since 1973, this cross-country skiing race has had thousands of people, both elite and causal skiers, enjoy the thrill of crossing the finish line of the Birkie.
