Wisdom from Above

God promises incredible rewards to the overcomer. The question is... who is the overcomer? Some say all believers are overcomer. Some say only faithful believers are overcomers. What does the Bible say? That is the key question

. Join us in this episode of Wisdom from Above as we investigate the identity of the overcomer.

The Westminster catechism reminds us that the chief end of man is to enjoy God and to glorify Him forever! Paul challenges us with these words, “Do all to the glory of God!” John reminds us that God is worthy of “honor and glory and blessing” (Rev. 4:11, 5:12-14). The Psalmist cried out, “Not to us, O Lord; not to us, but to Your name be the glory!” (Psalm 115:1).

The amazing thing is that God wants us to reflect His glory. God wants believers to live in such a way that they will receive the Crown of Glory! Join us as we examine this wonderful truth.

William Chatterton Dix's Christmas Carol asks this critical question: "What Child is This?" What child is this who laid to rest on Mary's lap is sleeping, whom angels greet with anthems sweet while shepherds watch are keeping?

In this special Christmas episode of Wisdom From Above, we turn to Hebrews chapter one in the Bible and we will discover seven answers to the question "What Child is This?"

God is offering amazing rewards to faithful believers. Jesus said, "Be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life." James said, "Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he is approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."

In this episode of Wisdom from Above, we will discover how a believer might receive the crown of life.

Jesus challenged His followers to hunger and thirst for righteousness. God called us to Himself that we might be conformed to the image of His Son (Rom. 8:29). This is our “holy calling” (2 Tim. 1:9). We were chosen that we might be holy and blameless (Eph. 1:4; Col. 1:22). By God’s grace, we can manifest the righteous character of Christ!

The crown of righteousness is awarded to the believer who cultivates this practical righteousness. Join us as we investigate The Crown of Righteousness

Jesus is offering crown rewards to believers. What are those crown rewards? How does a person win a crown reward? What if you win more than one crown? Will they stack up on top of one another like checkers? Those are good questions. Join me as we examine the nature of these rewards and as we focus on the crown of rejoicing.

How can we invest in eternal things? How can we use material riches here on earth so that God will reward us with spiritual riches in eternity?

The answer will be revealed in today's episode of Wisdom from Above as we investigate The Parable of the Shrewd Steward in Luke 16:1-13.

The Panhellenic Games were the most exciting and enjoyable events of the Grecian calendar.  The Games were religious festivals, but they were more.  They were like a sacred festival, a national fair, a trade mart, and a national athletic competition all wrapped into one. Paul compares the believer in the Christian life to an athlete in the Games. He challenges all believers to run in such a way that they will win. He reminds believers that the prize we are running for is far mote than a perishable wreath. Join me was we discover the true nature of our rewards.

In our last episode we discovered that every believer's life will be examined at the Judgment Seat of Christ. We saw that all we have said and done that is wood, hay, and straw will go up in smoke, while all we have said and done that is gold, silver, or precious stones all be imperishable and will be rewarded.

Today's episode is a search of the three major Scriptural passages on the judgment seat of Christ in order to discover the quality that makes a work imperishable.

We will discover three significant components of an imperishable work. Join me for this very practical investigation.
