In the middle of the night a voice called out, "Samuel,Samuel." Little Samuel jumped out of bed and ran to Eli and said, "Here I am, for you called me. " Eli said, I did not call you. Go back to bed. This happened two more times, and the third time Eli finally realized that it was the Lord who was calling to Samuel. Eli told Samuel that if the Lord called his name again he should answer saying, "Speak Lord, for your servant is listening." This beautiful story is loaded with applications to our lives.
