Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 17. I will then key in on verse 3 - The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the Lord tests the hearts. Friends, becoming that Christian that God would like you to eventually become is a process that will take our entire lifetime. The Bible tells us we are changed from glory to glory - in other words a bit here, and a bit there. Be patient, this is a marathon, not a sprint. On today's podcast I will begin my study of Paul's letter he wrote to the church in Rome. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Paul claims to be a voluntary slave for Jesus Christ.

2. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift.

3. So, as much as in in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you.

Call to action - Ask yourself this question - Are you aware that becoming the Christian that God calls you to be will take the rest of your life?

Friends, if you are a Christian the fact that God is aware of (and watches) every thing that we do should be a comfort for us. It will help us to stay the course and should provide motivation for us to avoid evil at all costs. On today's podcast I will be giving an introduction to the most impactful letter that the Apostle Paul wrote - the letter addressed to the Romans. By the end of today's lesson there are three things that I am asking you to consider:

1. Several very important people in history have come to Christ because of the Book of Romans.

2. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Friends, all of us are sinners, and will fall short of the expectations that God has for us)

3. Paul wanted to exhort Jewish and Gentile believers to live in harmony.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 12. I will then key in on verses 5 & 6 - The thoughts of the righteous are right, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. The words of the wicked are, "Lie in wait for blood," But the mouth of the upright will deliver them. Friends, these two verses demonstrate the difference in the way righteous people think (and act, and speak) and the way wicked (or evil) people think, act, and speak. On today's podcast we will complete our short study of the epistle of 2nd Peter. Today we will be going over Chapter 3. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. With the Lord one day is as a thousans years, and a thousand years as one day.

2. The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

3. Be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless.

I will then key in on verse 12 - He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace. Friends, if we have wisdom we will understand the importance of making friends with our neighbors. Neighbors can be helpful in so many ways. Only people without wisdom will make the decision to avoid their neighbors. On today's podcast we will be continuing our short study on 2nd Peter. Today we will be going over Chapter 2. By the end of today's lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Just like there were false prophets while Peter was on earth, there are false teachers today as well.

2. You will reap what you sow.

3. Once you become a Christian you need to continue to pursue the Christian life.

1. His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

2. We have been given great and precious promises and are to be partakers of the diving nature.

3. We are to add to our faith virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverence, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will go over August 9, 2022.  I will then introduce you to a good friend of mine, Scott, who is a third year student at Charis Bible College.  He will speak about his interpretation of Proverb 9.  He will then go over how he received Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  He will take us through his journey of how he came to Charis and the adventures he's had during his three years here.  He will then go over the vision of the ministry he is to begin.

Friends, this verse talks about the instruction (from God) to tell the truth at all times. God absolutes hates lying, and we need to do all we can to not lie. On today's podcast I will be beginning a short study on 2nd Peter. Today we will be going over Chapter 1. In this chapter Peter prophesies his death on a cross and the chapter ends with the concept that the truths in the Bible will continue to p0int to the source of all truth, Christ, until He returns in glory.

How important it is (to me) to always tell the truth? (being aware of the fact that God absolutely hates lying).
