Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill & Judy Kelley. On today's podcast we will be going over Proverb 30. Judy & I will then go over our favorite verses for Proverb 30. Judy & I will each talk briefly about what the Lord has been speaking to each of us. We will then go over "Reflections of Ireland." This podcast will go over the first two cities that we visited on our recent vacation to Ireland and Scotland. We will go over the places we saw and our thought about Dublin and Dingle - the first two cities that we visited. Judy will close with an invitation to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 29. I will then key in on verse 25. The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trust in the Lord shall be safe. Friends, we cannot be concerned with what man thinks of us - but only what God thinks of us. On today's podcast I will go over a very important topic - Faith or Doubt - which do you have? By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he could walk on water.

2. I believe, help my unbelief.

3. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 28. I will then key in on verse 2 - Because of the transgression of a land, many are its princes; But by a man of understanding and knowledge Right will be prolonged. Friends, let's focus on the second part of this verse. If we have understanding and knowledge, we will learn to be righteous and to live our lives making right choices. That's the lesson we can learn from today's podcast. I will go over three verses from Chapters 4, 5, & 6 of the Book of Ephesians. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. We are to put off the old man, be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and put on the new man.

2. Be imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love.

3. Stand firm, therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness.

Call to Action - When you have a choice to do the right thing (or to do the wrong thing) do you listen to your conscience? Do you end up doing the right thing? That conscience is actually the Holy Spirit dwelling on the inside of us. He will guide us into doing the right thing.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb. 26. I will then key in on verse 17 - He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own Is like one who takes a dog by the ears. Friends, I venture to say that if you go up to a dog that you do not know and, instead of petting it, you pull its ears that things will not go well for you. This verses tells us that if we meddle in a quarrel that is not yours the same thing will happen. On today's podcast I will recap the first three chapters of the Book of Ephesians. I completed my study of the Book of Ephesians a couple weeks ago. The past two weeks I published previously published podcasts covering the 1st and 2nd chapters of the Book of James. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

2. For by grace you have been saved through faith, it is the gif of God.

3. God ia able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 23.  I will then key in on verses 15 & 16:  My son, if your heart is wise, My heart will rejoice - indeed, I myself;  Yes, my inmost being will rejoice When your lips speak right things.  As a father and grandfather, words that are "right" are words that you want your kids and grandkids to speak.  You do not want them to be negative people.  You want them to know the goodness of the Lord, and speak words of righteousness.  I often speak these two verses over both my children and grandchildren.  Today, I will read Psalm 34 in its entirety.  This is one of my favorite passages of scripture.  King David of Israel penned this psalm almost 3,500 years ago - and yet it still applies very well to the times we live in today.  This psalm can be broken down into four parts: 1. verses 1-3 - David invites us to praise the Lord with Him and exalt His holy name. (The Lord is good, and only good.  We should recognize this and continually give Him praise; 2.  verses 4-7 - God will deliver you from all of your troubles (the key is to seek Him in prayer, and this psalm tells us He will hear you); 3.  verses 8-14 - We need to have a reverential fear of the Lord - this is one of the prominent themes in the entire book of Proverbs (if we have a reverential fear of the Lord - and seek wisdom - there is a good chance that our lives will be markedly improved; 4.  verses 15-22 - we should continually praise the Lord our God - He is good and only good, and we should continually be thanking Him.  If we seek Him in prayer, He will deliver us out of whatever it is we are going through.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 22.  I will then key in on verse 16:  He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.  This verse goes very well with our study in James this week.  In Chapter 2 of James, on Monday's podcast, James tells us that we are not to show partiality.  If Jesus didn't show partiality, neither should we.  I then will continue our study in Chapter 2 of the book of James.  Today we will be reading verses 18-26 of Chapter 2.  After reading these verses in their entirety, I will read an in depth article found in the commentary of my Bible entitled Faith and Works.  This article very clearly tells us that we are not to separate faith and works.  If we have faith, then our works should follow.  If all you have in this life in works, then you are not in need of Jesus.  This is what many people who do not have Jesus in their lives do.  We have to have faith.  Faith is what brings us to salvation.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 21.  I will then key in on verse 13:  Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard.  This will be demonstrated in our lesson from the book of James, Chapter 2 today.  I will read verses 10-17 today in their entirety.  Three things that we can take away from this passage are these: 1. If you stumble in one point, you are guilty of all.  Paul understood this when he penned his epistle to the Romans in Chapter 3: verse 23 - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  No matter how much we try to live perfect lives, we will always fall short.  Unfortunately, the people who usually will bear of the mistakes and shortcomings we have are the ones that we hold most dear in our lives (our spouses, children, parents, best friends, employers, etc); 2.  Mercy triumphs over judgement.  I will reread verse 13 of Chapter 2.  Then, we will go to the Gospel of Mathew, Chapter 7: verses 1 & 2 and discuss the mistake we often make by judging others as opposed to showing mercy on them.  We should follow the example that Jesus set for us while He was on Earth, and that is to show mercy on people; 3.  Faith without works is dead - as I've mentioned recently in a number of podcasts, we must pay attention, and not turn our back on the poor.  If we do this, when we are in need, no one will be there for us (see Galatians 6:7.). Whatsoever we sow, that shall we also reap.
