Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 21. I will then key in on verses 2 & 3 - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Friends, the bottom line is that we need to live our lives with God in mind. He is the ultimate judge. On today's podcast I will go over the story of the first martyr in the Bible (Stephen) and go over some details of the consequences of identifying yourself as a Christian in a number of countries throughout the world.

Friends, if we are followers of Jesus, He will lead us and guide us in the steps we are to take in our everyday lives. On today's podcast we will continue our study in the Gospel according to Luke. By the end of today's lesson, there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. A man asks Jesus to heal his son.

2. Jesus heals the boy.

3. Jesus again predicts His death.

I will then key in on verse 11 - The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger; And his glory is to overlook a transgression. Friends, we need to learn to have patience and to restrain ourselves from acting impulsively. On today's podcast we will continue our study in the Gospel according to Luke. We will look at the Transfiguration of Jesus. By the end of today's lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Jesus is transfigured on the mount.

2. Moses and Elijah speak with Jesus about His decease.

3. God again declares Jesus as His son.

Call to Action - I would like everyone to review these three statements today and ask yourself what God is trying to tell us in today's lesson? I believe He is wanting us to know beyond the shadow of a doubt that Jesus is His son, and that we are to treat Him as such.

Alexandra is a fellow 2nd year Charis Bible College student. She was on previously on February 21, 2023. I would highly encourage anyone listening to take the time and listen to her initial podcast. Alexandra talks about IAGs (Inter-active groups) has helped her to grow this year and describes the pleasure she felt when she saw some of the younger students growing in their relationship with the Lord. She then goes over the benefits of having been on a mission trip this year. She talks about what the Lord has been telling her recently and her plans for the future.

In this verse Jesus can be viewed as our friend. He is always available for us to talk to - but in our everyday lives it is also important to have at least one close friend who we can count on to help us in our time of need. On today's podcast we will continue our study of the Gospel according to Luke. After today's lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Peter declares that Jesus is "The Christ."

2. Jesus predicts His death and resurrection.

3. Take up your cross & follow Him.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 14. I will then key in on verse 2 - He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, But he who is perverse in his ways despises Him. Friends - it's this simple - you either fear the Lord, or you despise Him. May I suggest that you develop a healthy fear of the Lord. On this podcast I will bring up three verses of scripture:

Revelation: 12: 10-11; 1 Peter 3:13-15; & Proverb 11:30. These verses go over the importance of sharing our testimonies - what Jesus has done in our lives and how our lives are now different than they used to be. We are also to share with people why we have the hope that we have. Finally, we have to be concerned with other people and ensuring that they have received Jesus into their hearts and that their should are in a good place.

I will then key in on verse 18 - Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, But he who regards a rebuke will be honored. Friends, we need to welcome rebuke when it comes our way - either by the Word of God (the Bible), our spouse, our kids, our parents, our bosses, or our friends, if they inform of us of something we may have done which we shouldn't have done. On today's podcast we will pick up where we left off yesterday. By the end of this lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Herod seeks to see Jesus.

2. Jesus healed those who had need of healing.

3. Jesus feeds the thousands.

Call to action - How open are you to rebuke - when it comes?

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 12. I will then go over verse 26 - The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray. Friends, as followers of Christ we should choose fellow Christians as our closest friends. If we choose otherwise we may be tempted to do things we should not be doing. On today's podcast we will see Jesus sending out His 12 disciples to preach the Gospel and to heal the sick. By the end of this lesson, there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Jesus sent His disciples out to preach the Gospel & to heal the sick.

2. Take nothing for the journey.

3. Some people will not receive the message you bring.

During this podcast I also brought up two very important scriptures everyone should be familiar with: Hebrews 13:8; & John 14:12

Call to Action - Ask yourself if you are a disciple ( a true follower) of Jesus, or simply a convert of Jesus (one who said the sinner's prayer, but doesn't do anything with it)?
