  • Day 1751 – The Right Side of Heaven – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1751 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.

The Right Side of Heaven – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1751 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. Proverbs 16:16 says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Unknown, and it is, "A little girl taking an evening walk with her father looked up at the stars and exclaimed, ‘Oh, Daddy, if the wrong side of heaven is so beautiful, what must the right side be!’"
    The Right Side of Heaven
Do you ever take time to go outside on a starry night where there is no local light source and lay on your back to look at the beauty of the universe? If not, you should do so as soon as possible.  It is breathtaking and beyond comprehension.  Our minds cannot comprehend the beauty of God’s creation.  It is so vast that astronomers have no idea of how large the universe is.
Yet in James 1:18, we are told, "He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession." Think about this; we are God’s prized possession out of all that He created. That means as God’s created images, his love for us is even greater than the vast universe.
If that doesn’t cause us to pause and glorify God, nothing will. We have just seen a glimpse of the magnitude of His creation. If what we can see now is so marvelous, just think what heaven will be like. It will be a wonder to behold.
    1 Corinthians 2:9
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
    and no mind has imagined
    what God has prepared
    for those who love him.
    Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

How Much Faith Is Enough? – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1750 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.
Today’s quote is from Thomas Watson, and it is, “A little faith is faith as a spark of fire is fire.”
    How Much Faith Is Enough?
Faith is an exciting concept, and it depends on how comfortable and familiar we are with what we are putting our faith in. For most of us, when we sit down in a chair, we have faith that it will be strong enough to support us. It is because we have experience with and trust in most chairs. The same could be said for so many items we use every day, from beds to vehicles. We also have faith that the food we purchase won’t make us sick or kill us. But, how much faith is enough to handle life daily?
I would say, not very much faith is required to live a normal lifestyle without fear. Can we say the same about our faith in God? How much faith is necessary to trust that God will provide for our daily needs, keep us from harm, and guide our future? If we can have faith that a chair will support us, it should not even cross our minds that the creator of the universe, which includes you and me, can direct our lives for His purpose for us.
We are as God’s imagers, and as such, we are to project God into the lives of others. If we live fearful lives, what does that indicate of our trust and faith in God? Jesus Christ taught us that we just need a very small amount of faith as citizens of God’s kingdom to move mountains and impact our world.
    Matthew 17:20-21
“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

A Lifestyle vs. A Life – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1749 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.
So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Thomas Leonard, and it is, “A lifestyle is what you pay for; a life is what pays you.”
    A Lifestyle vs. A Life
If you work hard and are prudent with what you earn, you can create the lifestyle you wish to live. However, it does take focus, endurance, and wisdom to take advantage of the opportunities you cross on your trek of life.
Especially in most free countries, you can create just about any type of lifestyle desired. However, you must ask yourself and your family, are you willing to pay the price necessary to reach your desired lifestyle. I am certainly not referring only to a monetary cost. Every time to choose to say yes to one option, you are automatically saying no to other possibilities. Just make sure your choices are a good investment for you and the impact on your life with family and friends is worth the cost.
Living a rich and satisfying life is much more than obtaining material resources; it includes a rewarding life of relationships that no amount of money can buy. The satisfaction, peace, and relationships you can foster in your life are the payments you will receive from a well-lived life. One aspect of a well-lived life is sharing our resources with others to help improve their lifestyles.
    1 John 3:16-18
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and then come along tomorrow for another day of our Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.

A Very Small Universe – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1748 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.
Today’s quote is from John Glenn, and it is, "A life spent centering only on itself will, in the end, occupy a very, very small universe."
    A Very Small Universe
When we are wrapped up in ourselves and focused only on our needs and desires, our world or our universe will be a tiny one. However, when we expand our horizons, participate in activities that allow us to grow, and push outside our comfort zone, we will become more than we currently are today.
This growth process of assisting others and focusing on their needs allows us to expand exponentially.  And the more we develop ourselves and help others grow, the more we will learn and the larger our universe will become. We were not created to be an island unto ourselves but in loving relationship with God and fellow imagers of God. It is then we can fulfill our God-given destiny utilizing all our God-given talents and abilities. So, grow yourself, and help others to grow also.
    2 Peter 1:3-10
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old...

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Rita Mae Brown, and it is, “A life of reaction is a life of slavery, intellectually and spiritually. One must fight for a life of action, not reaction.”
    A Life of Action
When faced with opportunities, challenges, or difficulties in life, are you proactive or reactive? The answer to this question will largely determine how you live. This choice applies to all areas of your life – physically, intellectually, and spiritually. If you are continually reactive, you become a slave in those areas of life because the dictates and choices of others continuously drive you. Others are calling the shots and making decisions for you.
On the other hand, if you are a proactive person, before you are forced into making a decision based on someone else's agenda, you take the bull by the horns and take the action that is needed to seize the opportunities, face the challenges, and handle the difficulties of life. Being free allows you to live a life with choices, resulting in a rich and satisfying life.
Being reactive stems from being fearful, which in most situations, is a false fear. When you are proactive, you will make more mistakes in life, but overall you will be much farther ahead long term while maintaining the ability to make choices and be free! Don’t live a life of slavery to your fears. Instead, live a life of freedom knowing that God will give you the wisdom you need when faced with those exciting and challenging decisions of life, which we all face.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Vonette Z. Bright, and it is, "A life of obedience is not a life of following a list of do's and don'ts, but it is allowing God to be original in our lives."
    A Life Of Obedience
Some picture obedience as the same as following a strict list of rules and regulations—a list of do's and don’ts. That is not obedience but legalism. On the contrary, obedience is when we willingly and joyfully follow the precepts found in God’s Word. We follow them, not because we are forced to, but because we desire to please our creator.
God only wants what is best for us, and only God ultimately knows what is best. Therefore, our desire to please God must be stronger than our desire to please ourselves. When we follow His precepts because of our love for Him, we can experience the rich and satisfying life that Jesus desires for us. Therefore, we must guard that obedience does not turn to pride but is driven out of our love for God and others.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians%202%3A16andversion=NLT (Galatians 2:16)
Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1745 of our trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from George Bernard Shaw, and it is, “A life making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing at all.”
    Making Mistakes in Life
Few people purposely make mistakes, nor do we enjoy it when we do. But mistakes are inevitable because none of us are perfect, and most are far from it. The alternative to not making mistakes is to do nothing, but that would be the biggest mistake you could make in life. It is more honorable to try and make mistakes than not to try.
Mistakes are the stepping stones to learning. Mistakes are part of the dues a person pays to live a rich and satisfying life. Making mistakes is an inherent part of life that we cannot escape; however, we must be big enough to admit those mistakes, smart enough to benefit from them, strong enough to correct them, and wise enough not to repeat them.
We should learn from the mistakes that other people make also. We can never live long enough to make all of the mistakes ourselves. The biggest mistake you can make in your life is the constant fear of making mistakes.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+8%3A35-39andversion=NLT (Romans 8:35-39)
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Jackie Robinson, and it is: A life of importance is based on the impact it has on other lives.
    Life Of Importance
Everyone wants to feel important and looked on by others as an important person. However, there is a simple formula to be viewed as important by others. It is based on the positive impact that you have on the lives of others within your world. We may not be known outside of a tiny group of individuals, but how we impact those lives can have a positive effect that will ripple through all of eternity. Your importance is not based on how much money you make, what kind of house you live in, what school you went to, or what type of car you drive. It is much more vital that we make an impact on others with what we have. Little is much when God is in it. If God has been gracious to you and allows you to manage many resources, it will only matter if you use those resources to impact others. Mother Teresa lived with those she influenced in the slums of India, and yet she moved positively to thousands of lives with very few resources.
On the other hand, RG LeTourneau is perhaps the most inspiring Christian businessman and inventor of road construction and heavy equipment that forever changed the world. Not only did his equipment changed the physical world, with the millions that he earned and managed for God, he also invested 90% of what he earned into ministries that spread the good news of Christ throughout the world. Two extreme cases, and yet both of their lives had a huge impact on our world. Most of us are somewhere between these two examples, so yes, with little or much when God is in it, we can move mountains for His kingdom. Live a life of importance today.

Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say,
“They share freely and give generously to the poor.
Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”
For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the...

Today’s quote is from Bengt Sundberg, and it is: A life in thankfulness releases the glory of God.
    Life In Thankfulness
Thankfulness in our lives is just one way of bringing glory to God. Adopting a mindset of gratitude allows us to take our minds off ourselves and our selfish desires. When we take on this mindset, we become thankful for all the blessings pouring through our lives by the hands of others, and of course, from God. Living life in thankfulness is a choice. Even if not every situation in our lives is favorable, we can still be thankful for the difficult times because they mature us into better people. When we are thankful, we are kind to others, and we treat them in the same manner as we would like to be treated. Knowing that God is the provider of every good and perfect gift, we can count it all joy, regardless of the circumstance we face. Thankfulness is also contagious. The more we show gratitude and express our thankfulness to others, they will catch that contagion and be more thankful themselves.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+1%3A17-18andversion=NLT;NIV (James 1:17-18)
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

We are on Day 1742 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Mark Mobley, and it is: A life touched by God always ends up touching others.
    Touched By God
God cannot change you without it impacting all areas of your life. Therefore, when you live according to God’s precepts found in His Word and directed by His spirit, you should think differently, live differently, and act differently. In doing so, your life will impact the lives of everyone you come in contact with. It is linked to the universal law of planting and harvesting. Once God has planted His Spirit within you, the crop harvested is a crop of kindness and good deeds to others. It is one of the pieces of evidence that God has touched you. Through your changed life, you will impact and be able to assist others through their transformation. It is the multiplying effect, which is also part of the law of planting and harvesting. If God has touched your life, it will multiply through you and through others that you impact.

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
