Impossible To Fail – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1944 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Dorothea Brande, and it is: All that is necessary to break the spell of inertia and frustration is this: Act as if it were impossible to fail.
    Impossible To Fail

We all know that we will fail occasionally and sometimes quite often. When approaching a project or task, the key is tackling it as IF it were impossible to fail, which will significantly accelerate your success rate. On the opposite side of that coin, if you approach a project or task as if there was a high probability of failure, then your failure rate will significantly increase. Our mindset drives our outcomes in every area of life. If you expect to succeed, you will achieve more often. If you start each day with a positive mindset, your days will be much more successful. As with so many things in our lives, it goes back to the law of planting and harvesting. Plant good thoughts in your mind, and you will harvest positive outcomes. Along with the firtle soil of a positive mindset, plant the seeds of perseverance, and determination, with a good dose of hard work, and the harvest will be successful, more often than failure. Use your God-given talents and abilities for His honor and glory, and when you are finished with the project or task, you can stand in amazement at what God has accomplished through you.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2019%3A26andversion=NLT (Matthew 19:26)

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Edmund Burke, and it is: All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.
    Good People Must Act

Evil has been in the world since the fall of humanity, but that doesn’t mean we should just sit back and allow evil to flourish if we have the opportunity to prevent it. With the prevalence of 24/7 news stations and always-available internet and social media, evil may seem more prevalent today than at any time in history. Still, if you study recorded history, the opposite is true. The situation in the world today reminds me of the opening sentence in the classic book of The Tale of Two Cities. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” Considering that there are 7.96 billion people in the world today, per capita, there is less poverty, a higher standard of living, less manual labor, less child labor, less disease, less war, less oppression, less violence, less crime, less murder, more extended lifespans, more technology, more charity, and a more level playing field for everyone than at any time in history. Yet, even considering this, we must be vigilant to take a stand against all forms of evil, oppression, and tyranny. If we do not stand for what is good and faithful and follow the precepts found in God’s Word, evil will raise its ugly head and reak havoc throughout the world. Therefore, let us build God’s kingdom every day so that we will be ready to usher in His kingdom when Christ returns to earth.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians+6%3A10-18andversion=NLT (Ephesians 6:10-18)

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Today’s quote is from Brian Tracy, and it is: All successful people are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.
    Successful People

Success always starts with a dream. The bigger the dream the greater your success will be. The bigger the dream, the more difficult it will be to achieve. Big dreams require the willingness to overcome enormous obstacles, which must be coupled with persistence and tenacity. If you are unwilling to invest the time, resources, and energy to achieve your dreams, then either change your dreams to something you can achieve or be honest with yourself that you are unwilling to make the sacrifices needed. All worthwhile endeavors require that you work every day in your pursuit of that endeavor. It means you keep your eye on the prize, that distant vision through predefined goals and a driven purpose to achieve it. Dream big, but be willing to do what it takes to reach that prize. In life, the ultimate prize is to assist in building God’s kingdom so that one day we will have the privilege to rule and reign with that perfect imager of God, Jesus Christ.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+9%3A24-27andversion=NLT ( 1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Roger Love, and it is: All speaking is public speaking, whether it’s to one person or a thousand.
    Public Speaking

It has been said that many people are more afraid of speaking in public than death itself. When you think about it, though, we all speak in public. The only difference is the number of people we are speaking to. Although I get a little nervous when speaking in public, especially if it is a very large group, I find it easier to speak before an entire room full of people than to start a conversation one-on-one. Although most people probably don’t realize it, I am a shy person. It is challenging to be in a situation where I am expected to start or carry on a conversation with people I don’t know very well. I have to force myself outside of my comfort zone when needed because I understand that it may be an opportunity to meet someone’s needs and build God’s kingdom. This past year, I have had the privilege to be the primary teaching pastor at our small local church, providing many opportunities to learn God’s Word and hone my public speaking craft. As with anything you attempt in life, it takes practice, perseverance, and a desire to become all God intended for you. So whether you have to speak to two, two hundred, or two thousand people, do it all for the glory of God. He will give you the grace and strength to do so.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+8%3A14-17andversion=NLT (Romans 8:14-17)

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Today’s quote is from Michael Bobak, and it is: All progress takes place outside the comfort zone.
    Outside The Comfort Zone

Any time we take on a challenge or make progress, it will cause us some discomfort or anxiety. The more significant the progress, the less comfortable we will be. Leaving their comfort zone will be a challenge for someone who is risk-averse, but little progress will be made unless you leave that comfort zone. This statement may sound a bit complex, but if you don’t leave your comfort zone and lack progress, eventually, that situation will cause more discomfort in your life than moving forward now, even if it does cause you some pain now. You must plant seeds of discomfort today so that you will reap a harvest of progress later on. As the old saying goes, pay me now, or pay me later. Either way, you will still have to pay. The payment required for lack of progress will be much greater than small investments over time outside your comfort zone today. If you allow God to direct your steps, he will lead you through your path.

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.

for the Lord holds them by the hand.

    Dare To Be Different

Throughout our teen years and even into adulthood, en masse, we attempt to be different, but most of the time, we all end up the same because we all want to be accepted by our peers. It takes a truly confident person to dare to be different without being weird or offensive. God has created us uniquely different from anyone else with our unique talents and abilities. Yet, we will have commonalities because we are created to be God’s imagers. Still, we do a disservice to ourselves and our community if we become lemmings because we are insecure and desire to fit in instead of being outstanding. If you desire to make the most progress possible so that you can have the most significant potential impact on your community and all eternity, then dare to be different. Dare to shine like the sun for God’s honor and glory.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians%202%3A10andversion=NLT (Ephesians 2:10)

Today’s quote is from Anthony Robbins, and it is: All personal breakthroughs begin with a change in beliefs.
    Personal Breakthroughs

As the familiar saying goes, insanity is trying the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results. If you desire breakthroughs in any area of life, you must change what you are currently doing. That begins with a change in beliefs coupled with a change of mindset. You must change your perspective, and think differently, before you will act differently, and obtain different results. So much of our life is us playing mind games. We desire to be more, have more, and do more, but we somehow convince ourselves that we don’t have to invest our time and resources to make that change. Change will happen no matter what, so if you desire better results, you must choose what changes will occur in your life, instead of letting life just happen to you. Changing your beliefs will result in a changed mindset. A changed mindset will lead to personal breakthroughs. It sounds simple, but you have to determine that you will have the persistence and patience to achieve what you desire. It is your choice.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians%206%3A8%2D10andversion=NLT (Galatians 6:8-10)

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

Don't Look Down On Others – Daily Wisdom

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1937 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.

Today’s quote is from Zig Ziglar, and it is: All people want someone they can look up to, without that person looking down on them.
    Don’t Look Down On Others

Within our created nature, we desire to look up to people in positions of authority or garner our respect in some manner. We also desire to be loved and respected by others, even those we look up to. Since we are created to be God’s imagers and take on the character traits of that perfect imager, Jesus Christ, we should copy what has been written about Him in God’s Word. Jesus never looked down on others, even those who were the lowest in their societal rankings. On the contrary, Jesus often condemned those in positions of authority and power for abusing their positions and thinking more highly of themselves than they did of others, including God. Yes, it is ok to look up to and respect others, but as you have an opportunity to be loved and respected, make sure you show that same love and respect from those who may have a lower standing in society.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+2%3A3-11andversion=NLT (Philippians 2:3-11)

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

    Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
    as something to cling to.
    Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Welcome to Day 1936 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.

Life Is A Celebration – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1936 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.

Today’s quote is from St. Clement of Alexandria, and it is: All our life is a celebration for us; we are convinced that God is always everywhere. So we sing while we work...we pray while carrying out all life’s other occupations.
    Life Is A Celebration

As Christ-followers, we have been granted not only everlasting life but life eternal. This fact alone should drive us to live in celebration each day. In John 10:10, Jesus said. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. Therefore, we should celebrate life every day. We should sing while we work and go about our activities. We should be in a spirit of prayer in everything that we do. Our lives should be filled with joy so everyone who observes us can see that we are filled with God’s Spirit. I understand that some days are complicated, and we will run into trying times, but even when we do, let us keep our eyes on Jesus as we are told in Hebrews 12:1-4. Therefore, since such a huge crowd of witnesses surrounds us to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. After all, you have not yet given your lives in your struggle against sin.

Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Les Brown, and it is: All of us need to grow continuously in our lives.
    Grow Continuously

As with everything in nature, we are either in a state of growth or decay. No one stays static for any length of time. Growth must be fostered in all areas of our lives, but not necessarily at the same growth rate. During the different seasons of life, we may focus more on specific areas such as spiritual, family, physical, mental, social, financial, and career. Still, all must experience some level of continuous growth, or your life will be like a flat tire, making your ride through life very rough. After a period of fast growth in one area, there will need to be a time for the maturation of that growth. Let me use the analogy of a tree. During the springtime, when the sap flows through the tree trunk to feed the limbs and leave, the tree will add a lot of new wood fibers. During the remainder of that year, the fibers will take on a new phase and harden into solid wood. We need both persistence to move forward and patience to allow the recent growth in our lives to mature. You must take on the mindset of a farmer who knows and understands that the crop will not be ready to harvest until many steps are completed. The ground is plowed, the seeds are planted, if the seeds are watered and cared for, the plants will grow, and only after a long period of growth will the harvest results be available. Keep on growing throughout your life until the great harvest at the end of your days is completed.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+5%3A7-8andversion=NLT (James 5:7-8)

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.
