Welcome to Day 1924 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.

    Great Difficulties – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1924 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from William Bradford, and it is: All great and honorable actions are accompanied with great difficulties.
    Great Difficulties

We all think that we would like and enjoy a life of ease, but that is not what life is made of. When you accomplish great and honorable deeds and actions, the road will be strewn with obstacles, hardship, and difficulties. That is not to say we can’t be joyful even amid difficulties. On the contrary, the Bible encourages us, and even commands us, to be joyful in all situations. Joy is having peace in your heart and life, even when the storms of chaos are pummeling you from all sides. The stronger the storms, the more peaceful you will be once the storms are over. If God is indeed guiding and directing our lives, he knows and understands all we go through. Therefore, he will also provide us with the peace needed to end the journey. It is up to us to carry on until our life journey is complete.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%2016%3A33andversion=NLT (John 16:33)

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

As you ponder this nugget of wisdom for yourself, please encourage your friends and family to join us and come along tomorrow for another day of ‘Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.’

Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. Today’s quote is from David J. Schwartz, and it is: All great achievements require time.
    Great Achievements

We live in a world that desires instant everything. So we have fast food, minute rice, instant oatmeal, jiffy lube, fast pass, quick pain relief, and unlimited get-rich-quick schemes. It is a society of instant gratification without the willingness to take responsibility for our actions. This goes against God’s laws of planting and harvesting. All worthwhile achievements in our life require time and hard work. Persistence and perseverance are the core to the successes that will bring lasting results. Instead of looking for ways to circumvent the process, let us put our hand on the plow and continue to push forward until the task is complete. Let us not seek shortcuts, but the maturity and wisdom that comes from dedicating ourselves to utilize our God-given talents and abilities to finish the course and bring honor and glory to His name.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%209%3A62andversion=NLT (Luke 9:62)

But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”

    Earthly Delights – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1922 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Jonathan Edwards, and it is: All earthly delights are but streams. But God is the ocean.
    Earthly Delights

God has blessed us as His imagers with many wonderful delights while we continue building His kingdom on earth. But unfortunately, we become so enamored with our earthly riches and the beauty we have all around us that we forget that they are just a little foretaste of the divine glory that God has stored up for us. Of course, we should enjoy all the riches and blessings we have now, but we should never become so consumed with them that we miss the blessing from heaven that God will pour out to us if we remain faithful to His calling. What God has given us now is just a bubbling brook compared to the ocean of goodness and blessing we will receive when we join him in glory.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+2%3A6-12andversion=NLT (1 Corinthians 2:6-12)

Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten. No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God[https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians+2andversion=NLT#fen-NLT-28362c (c)]—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began. But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord. That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
    and no mind has imagined
    what God has prepared
    for those who love him.”

But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Anatole France, and it is: All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.
    Change Can Be Difficult

As I have mentioned in previous days, most people are resistant to change, which makes it difficult. However, even when change is needed and desired, there is always a bit of sadness. For example, when one phase of life ends and we begin another, most of us will experience some melancholy feelings. These feelings are natural, and we should accept them for what they are. However, most of the time, our current phase of life is comfortable, and apprehension is experienced when we must leave that comfort zone.

Nevertheless, change is required and often more exciting and rewarding than what we leave behind. When a season of life changes, a part of us must die so that new life can enter our world. After a period of sadness, rejoice in the new life you are beginning.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+12%3A23-26andversion=NLT (John 12:23-26)

Jesus replied, “Now the time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.

Today’s quote is from Margaret Wheatley, and it is: All change, even very large and powerful change, begins when a few people start talking with one another about something they care about.
    All Change Starts Small

All change and any progress will not even begin until those responsible for that change begin collaborating about something they are passionate about. When this happens though, a small but passionate group of people can take action that could change lives and even impact the world. So never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has. The Bible tells us that faith as small as the tiniest seed has the capacity to move mountains and change the world for God. So if you want to change lives, change towns, or change the world, start with a small group of people that have the same passion and make it happen.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2017%3A20andversion=NLT (Matthew 17:20)

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Charles Kingsley, and it is: All but God is changing day by day.
    All But God Changes

Very few people I know enjoy changes in any area of life. I, for one, adapt to change quickly, but as I mature and age, I find that I enjoy routine more and more. Even if the situation is not ideal, most people would rather stay in their comfort zone of mediocrity than enter the unknown, which may be much better. King Solomon wrote in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes%201%3A10andversion=NLT (Ecclesiastes 1:10), Sometimes, people say, “Here is something new!” But actually, it is old; nothing is ever truly new. While this is true in that people go through the same cycles throughout their lives and throughout history, our individual circumstances are constantly in a state of flux. Our situations constantly change which brings anxiety and discomfort to our lives. As Imagers of God, change can be good if we are changing to become more like that perfect imager, which is Jesus Christ. We can then take comfort that although our lives change, we serve an unchanging God. In that, we can have peace in the midst of storms. We can have joy amid uncertainty.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%201%3A16%2D18andversion=NLT (James 1:16-18)

So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

Today’s quote is from Charles Caleb Colton, and it is: All adverse and depressing influences can be overcome, not by fighting, but by rising above them.
    Rise Above

My basic nature is positive, and I tend to reframe any negative situation in a positive light. But even I, at times, will struggle with adverse, depressing, and negative situations. When this happens, it is all too easy to allow it to drag us down with it, but that will not help or resolve the issue. Therefore, we don’t need to fight with those who are negative. Instead, rise above the fray and realize that we can do and be better regardless of the situation. As Christ-followers, we should have joy in reflecting on our abundant life. Not everything will be pleasant or without struggle, but there is so much to be thankful for. So instead of being drug down by those who are adverse, rise above and stand tall. Reframe your situation with an eternal perspective. Then even the difficult days will have a ray of paradise in them.

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps.

Today’s quote is from Napoleon Hill, and it is: All achievements, all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea.
    Begin With An Idea

Before we can accomplish anything in life, we must first have an idea and then be convinced that it is possible. Of course, ideas themselves will not accomplish anything unless action is taken, but the idea should come before the action. Unfortunately, many fail to take time for solitude where they can pause, reflect, think, and brainstorm so that ideas begin to appear and germinate. Once the ideas are formulated, they become like a packet of yeast. The yeast by itself will do nothing, but soaking it in a bit of warm water will allow the yeast to be activated. Then once the yeast is mixed with flour and other ingredients, in an environment where there is a little heat applied, it will force the entire mixture to grow. That tiny idea, represented in this analogy as a small yeast packet, will cause the mixture to double, triple, or even quadruple in size. Once that idea has entered into a plan of execution, that is, ingredients, it can be placed into an environment where it will be fully baked, just like a loaf of homemade bread. I can taste it now, and it is delicious. So dream, come up with ideas, mix them with a plan and bake them to completion. The results will be your achievements and wealth.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2013%3A33andversion=NLT (Matthew 13:33)

Jesus also used this illustration: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Barry Wishner, and it is: Aim so high you’ll never be bored.
    Aim High

While children will frequently verbally declare that they are bored, I find that many adults live a life of boredom. Boredom is a state of mind. No one is forced to be bored; boredom is a choice. There is so much in life that we can experience, and it does not take financial resources to live a life fully. Taking a walk in nature, exercising, reading a good book from a library, laying out under the stars, watching children play, playing games yourself, working on a puzzle, woodworking, quilting, cross-stitching, music, and the list could go on and on. In addition, you can volunteer, help those less fortunate, visit the elderly, or do any activity that gets you out of your head and put your efforts into helping others. The higher your aim, the less possibility of you being bored. There is no excuse for boredom, do whatever you can to benefit and enhance the lives of others, and you will find your life is whole and prosperous.

The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

  • Day 1915 – Right To Be Wrong – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1915 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.
This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
Right To Be Wrong – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1915 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.

Today’s quote is from David M. Burns, and it is: Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life.
    Right To Be Wrong

We all desire to succeed, but success never comes through being perfect. I would say the opposite is true. Your success comes from making mistakes, learning, and trying again with additional knowledge and insight. You still won’t be perfect, but with each reiteration of the process, you become a little more excellent. The steps to success are, try, fail, learn, try, fail, and learn as many times as necessary until you reach the finish line. Sometimes success comes quickly; at other times with takes years, decades, or even a lifetime to achieve the success desired. Even when you reach success, you will not do so perfectly, but with persistence and determination, you will succeed. Never give up your right to be wrong, and in doing so, you will learn the lessons needed so that success will eventually come.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Job+22%3A27-30andversion=NLT (Job 22:27-30)

You will pray to him, and he will hear you,
and you will fulfill your vows to him.

You will succeed in whatever you choose to do,
and light will shine on the road ahead of you.

If people are in trouble and you say, ‘Help them,’
    God will save them.

    Even sinners will be rescued;
they will be rescued because your hands are pure.”
