May 12, 2021Episode 81: I Should've Known That...Val returns this week to help us answer trivia questions in this weeks episode. We had a lot of fun seeing how much we do not remember or know at all. We also had an "appearance" from Stone Cold Steve Austin! How We Played: We played individually so we could really bring out how dumb we are at simple questions. Each trivia card has four questions so we made each question answered correctly a point. Going around the group we each read the four questions and answered to the best of our ability. Then the answers on the back were revealed and points counted!I Should've Known That... is for ages 14+, and it really showed all the crap you learn in school doesn't matter as an adult unless you play trivia. Even though we are not smarter than a 4th grader, we still enjoyed the competition. We had a lot fun laughing at our completely wrong answers. Gotta laugh so you don't cry. Game play can last a long as long as you need. Since there are four questions per card, and we never stay on topic, our game lasted a little longer than 45 mins. May 04, 2021Special Episode 80: Theory TuesdayWe were still fatigued from vacation and needed something light and fun. Our usual Game Night antics will resume next Tuesday. Ashley was wonderful and filled in for Theon who did not feel too well (also why the audio sucks and shows why he is defiantly our MVP).Are you part of a mass group that believes wholeheartedly that a specific event happened, but in reality it never did? Odds are, you are experiencing the Mandela Effect. It is also attached to everday household items that we see on a daily basis, but a group of people see or view it differently. We only touch the surface of confabulations that many believe to be real. We also get into some theories as to why this phenomenon happens. Connect with us on Instagram and let us know your Mandela Effect!Get Connected:Instagram www.instagram.com/cardswitheandrYouTube @ CardswithE&RTwitter www.twitter.com/CardswithEandREmail us @ [email protected]Support the show...more29minPlay
April 20, 2021Episode 79: Off TopicThis episode is all silliness and fun! Ashleigh helps us play the game "for those slightly off". Which fits all of us!How We Played: Each player gets a board, dry erase marker, and the same numbered Topic Card's (these cards are double sided). The youngest player goes first! They choose a Topic Card and Letter. Then players go down the Topic Card (1-8) and write an answer starting with the letter selected for the round before time runs out. Each player then reads / argues their answers in order to get a point! We took Off Topic to a completely off universe. It takes a lot of brain power and creativity to think of an answer starting with one letter. Also trying to beat the timer is always stressful, in a good way. We defiantly got a great laugh session for Game Night. Even though this game is PG, we always find a way to make it R. Off Topic is best for 2 players and up, ages 13+. We got into a lot of debates and off topic a lot so our game play was almost 60 mins, but it can be shortened to 30 min.Game of the WeekOff Topic: www.offtopicgames.comTo Check Us Out:Instagram www.instagram.com/cardswitheandrYouTube @ CardswithE&RTwitter www.twitter.com/CardswithEandREmail us @ [email protected]Support the show...more1h 7minPlay
April 13, 2021Episode 78: Face FactorOG Three this week bringing Face Factor for Game NightHow We Played: The person with the most hair on their head (including facial hair) goes first. There is a die with this game, but we all know by now we can't keep it on the table. So we took turns choosing one of four senarios on the card and act it out only using our face. You can not use words, hands, feet or any other body part unless specified on the card. The other players call out their guesses until some one gets it or give up.Face Factor brings out a lot of creativity by only using your face to act out certain senarios. We were laughing so hard throughout! It is hilarious to see what facial expression your friends think fits the senario. There is a difference, however, between what we think the expression should look like and what expression we actually display in real life. Even if you know the players very well, you may not be able to guess the senarios correctly. Face Factor was great in our small group of three, and would be awesome for a group of 12! For a larger group you could split into groups for a charades type gameplay. April 06, 2021Episode 77: For The GirlsThis week Hailee and Jodi join us for Game Night! For The Girls is part of the What Do You Meme Empire. Don't forget to check them out by the link below! How We Played: For The Girls comes with 5 different categories, which is awesome! However, we are pretty limited to our seats so we played with 3 Categories. There is a die that tells each player which card to grab, but we are terrible with keeping the die on the table. We shuffled all three categories together and started with the first card on top. The player with the most Instagram followers goes first which turned out to be our guest Hailee! We went around the table picking cards from the deck with the three categories: First To Mess Up Loses, Give This Card, and Keep This Card. We had a great Girl's Game Night! Since we aren't very familiar with Hailee and Jodi, we did more of a discussion for teh Give This Card and Keep This Card categories. It was a great way to get to know them more as we shared embarrassing / personal stories. Set up is a breeze as you shuffle, lay out the decks and start playing! For The Girls is great for 3+ players, ages 17 and over. This game can be as quick as 15-30mins or if you have time can go over an hour. March 30, 2021Episode 76: If You Had To...How We Played: Players start, and continue, with 5 cards in hand. Choose a player to start as Judge first. Other players pick which card the Judge would hate to do the most out of their five. Players then argue why their card is ultamately worst out of the other players. The Judge asks questions for more information on the cards senario and players make up the answer. Judge will then choose which card is worst and that player wins a point. Judge position then moves to player on the left.If You Had To... is part of the DSS game empire. We always enjoy playing thier games as set up is super easy and the instructions are simple. If You Had To... has hilarious senarios and each can be worst if you are convencing enough. We love to argue our point, so this game fits us perfectly. There can be new Game Night players as you don't need to know all players personally. Have a big group? Split into two groups and play as usual! Can your kids repeat what you love most about them? Are your kids aware of what makes you feel the most loved? Are siblings aware when one is angry or upset thourgh body language alone? It can be interesting to see what is picked up on, and what can get left out in a family relationship. There can be more than just blood between families. Rachel and Ashleigh's children spend a lot of time together as friends and that connection is also important. There are tender moments, awkward turtle moments, and laugh out the chair moments in this episode. March 02, 2021Episode 72: ConnectU for FriendsThis week is sponsored by ConnectU Games! We played the For Friends pack and later in the month will play the For Family pack so stay tuned for that. Use code "E&R4U" for a total of 40% off your deck this month! There is also a GIVEAWAY being held all month long (Feb 28-Mar 31) sponsored by ConnectU Games. Head over to our Instagram @cardswitheandr to find out how to enter for a cash prize! Quick How to Play: There are 20 Playing Cards that you will need to find the match for in order to gain points. There are different points assigned to the Playing Cards so having the most pairs does not mean you are the winner. A player starts by asking another player if they have a match to complete their pair. If the player does not have a match then the next player asks. When there is a match, the player asking for a match will choose a Question or Challenge card. If it is a Question Card the player asking for the pair card will write down their answer and the player with matching pair card will say their answer. If the answers match, then the player asking for the pair wins, if not then the player with the matching pair wins the card. Challenge cards must be completed or else that player will forfeit the pair card to the other player. It makes more sense when you listen and watch us play.ConnectU For Friends is about gaining a deeper connection and evolving your intentions towards each other. Even though you may have been friends for 10 plus years, when was the last time you sat down and talked about goals or asked what can I do to be more supportive? We get comfortable in our relationships, and this game is a great way to check in. It is fun and interactive, but can also be heavy and emotional. Sharing these feelings and intentions are what makes a connection with friends stronger. Throughout this game we definitely learned more about each other. Ashleigh is new to the group as a whole so it was great to hear her intentions and goals. We enjoyed playing this game and know that you will too. Play ConnectU For Friends with 2 to 8 players, ages 18+. Everything you need is included with the box.
