- WOC049: Bible Study 12/29/2015Join us as Pastor Samuel delivers the message entitled, "1 Corinthians 8 Meat Sacrificed to Idols."NotesPaul makes a distinction of meat offered to idols at festivals and meat offered to idols in private homes (10:25-11:1). Knowledge in this context is a reference to philosophy which Paul addressed in the opening part of the letter. Christian knowledge comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ our LORD. Corinthians had knowledge of pagan gods they once worshiped. The former worship of these false gods proved to be emptiness because there is only One God(Deuteronomy 6:4). Join us as Pastor Samuel delivers the message entitled, "Acts 2: Acts of the Apostles Pentecost."
Notes
On the Day of Pentecost, God brings in a new civilization upon the earth. Holy Spirit empowers the people whom LORD Jesus had chosen before He departed the earth. This new civilization known as the kingdom of God and the body of Christ, the Church would demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit when they spoke in the language of every nation present in Jerusalem. The nations represented the world and the apostles would take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. We are the evidence that the apostles were obedience to the commandment of Jesus Christ to go and to make disciples of the nations.

The most effective teaching of a disciple is the life of the teacher. Paul in this portion of his letter demonstrates the life of a true apostle. Paul’s opening statement in this chapter is a question which is truly a testimony of his life.Bible Study Notes are available at wocmhighsprings.comFor more information visit us on facebook.com/wocmhighsprings or at wocmhighsprings.comAudio courtesy of bensound.com entitled "Happiness"1 hr 30 min - WOC049: Bible Study 12/29/2015Join us as Pastor Samuel delivers the message entitled, "1 Corinthians 8 Meat Sacrificed to Idols."NotesPaul makes a distinction of meat offered to idols at festivals and meat offered to idols in private homes (10:25-11:1). - WOC046: Bible Study 12/15/2015Join us as Pastor Samuel delivers the message entitled, "1 Corinthians 6 Civil litigation at Corinth."NotesRoman law prohibited a lower-class person from suing an upper-class person. However, an upper-class person could sue a lower-class person and a person of the same class could sue his or her peers. It was believed that some of the members of the Corinthians church were Roman Magistrates. Apparently, suing someone was a commonality in Greek culture. Paul by Holy Spirit needed to address the polemic of suing fellow brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of their social class.
