Roman law prohibited a lower-class person from suing an upper-class person. However, an upper-class person could sue a lower-class person and a person of the same class could sue his or her peers. It was believed that some of the members of the Corinthians church were Roman Magistrates. Apparently, suing someone was a commonality in Greek culture. Paul by Holy Spirit needed to address the polemic of suing fellow brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of their social class. Study Notes are available at wocmhighsprings.com

The Corinthians had a problem growing into mature Christians. Cliques were paramount in the church and Holy Spirit had Paul to instruct the Corinthians on spiritual matters. He demonstrated his life along with Apollos life in Christ Jesus. Paul commanded them to stay in the written word because it will help them to become mature Christians.

Notes

The sole purpose of spiritual warfare is to get saints of God to take their eyes off Him and His Son, Jesus. To lose hope in the fact that Jesus Christ our LORD is going to return for us. Holy Spirit is here to help us to be constantly vigil of Christ’s soon return.
