The TALK-LINE interview for March 12 featured Shaw Local News Network representatives Charlene Bielema and Brandon Clark discussing the upcoming consolidated elections April 1, a salute to teachers in the area, a featuring business in the downtown Dixon area and St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Dixon High School Spring Musical Director Ashley Almquist previews the Dixon High School Spring musical “Grease” at the Wiltz Auditorium Friday and Saturday March 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. and Sunday March 16 at 2 p.m. Cast and crew, preparation for the performances and ticket prices.

The TALK-LINE interview for March 11 featured the Administrative Manager of Kreider Services of Dixon, Sue Ely, discussing the recently finished “Holiday Appeal” fundraiser which ended in February and its success for Kreider. She also discusses Kreider Alliance scholarship opportunities for students entering the health field and its deadline March 15, a Florissa Center seminar in Rochelle March 18 and a preview of the Kreider Gala in May.

The TALK-LINE interview for March 10 featured Lisa Wiggins, Registered Nurse and Director of Maternal/Child Services with the Lee County Health Department. Wiggins discusses the problems with lead in residences and businesses that may affect health in youth and others and the health department’s services offered plus a look at the Women, Infant, Children area and the opportunities for new families and families of infants and children to take advantage, plus reminders of the Family Case Management and immunizations.

The TALK-LINE interview for March 6 featured Sauk Valley Community College Marketing Manager Jim Grot discussing upcoming events on the SVCC calendar including a baseball/softball umpiring course Saturday March 8 at the college free of charge, a need for “College For Kids” instructors to sign up for the June event, motor-coach trips to see Moulin Rouge in Chicago April 3 and a Galena Wine Tasting Trip April 12.

The TALK-LINE for March 5 featured Shaw Local News Network reporter Brandon Clark covering a story out of Sterling concerning untreated rental homes and how the city council is trying to work to please those in need of help with their units and the landlords that are complying with upkeep.

The TALK-LINE interview for March 5 is with Chief Executive Officer at the Dixon Family YMCA, Andy McFarlane along with Fitness Director Katie Matteson discussing the upcoming “Shamrock Shuffle” Fun Run and 5K Saturday March 15 with registration for the event continuing up until the 15th along with youth soccer registration information and Lovett Child Care Center news.

The TALK-LINE interview for March 4 featured Dixon Park District Executive Director Duane Long discussing park infrastructure for March, the start of the Project Rock construction of the walking bridge across the Rock River and its effects on park property, the Lowell Park Edwards Nature Center new director and events coming up through the park district.

The TALK-LINE interview for March 3 featured Dixon Chamber of Commerce and Dixon Main Street Marketing Director Lucas Pauley discussing upcoming events on the calendar including a March “Business After Business” networking event, a candidates forum for the upcoming April consolidated election, a career fair at Dixon High School and the “Best Of Dixon” event in April.

The TALK-LINE interview for February 28 featured Dixon Police Department Sergeant Ryan Bivins talking about the return of the Honor Guard division of Dixon Police which will participate in events such as parades and special activities.

We also spoke with Dixon Police Sergeant Arron Simonton discussing the training involved in the “Active Shooter Response” area of law enforcement which also included other area units participating, plus a look at the continual training in many areas that involve extra time spent in the routine of law enforcement daily.
