The TALK-LINE interview for February 27 featured the Marketing Manager at Sinnissippi Centers of Dixon, Andy Jackson, along with Stevie Renee Carney, S-U-P-R Recovery Support Specialist who discussed her area concerning Substance Use Prevention and Recovery with her team working in area. Andy discussed a new fundraiser for Sinnissippi taking place in May called “Gathering For Good” at the Dixon Elks Lodge featuring entertainment, food, dessert auction and silent auction plus a focus on February-American Heart Month and the association between heart problems and depression.

The Talk-Line interview for February 26 was with Shaw Local News. The Managing Editor of the Dixon Telegraph and Sterling Gazette, Charlene Bielema and reporter Brandon Clark discusses the recent protests being staged in Whiteside County concerning immigration and other national issues, the opening of the newly remodeled Historic Dixon Theater, Coloma Township Board resignations and replacements, and criminal court proceedings in Lee and Whiteside Counties.

The TALK-LINE interview for February 25 was with the Trips Coordinator of the Lee County Council on Aging, Cathy Reglin, in to discuss the schedule of upcoming events including a free breakfast, game show day and a special meeting gathering information on what members would like to see happen at L-C-C-O-A plus motor-coach trips planned to Colorado, the Black Hills of South Dakota, Myrtle Beach Florida and a plane trip to New York City.

The TALK-LINE interview for February 24 was with WREX-TV Chief Meteorologist Alex Kirchner discussing the 2025 Illinois Severe Storms Preparedness Week March 3-7. Topic list included what to know about warnings and watches, weather spotting training classes through the National Weather Service for our area and what weather will look like for the spring.

The TALK-LINE interview for February 21, 2025 featured the Executive Director of the YWCA of the Sauk Valley, Rebecca Munoz-Ripley, discussing the importance of fundraisers held to support YWCA programs, the annual “Women of Achievement” luncheon in April and nominations for awards are on-line and Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month in February.

The TALK-LINE interview for Thursday, February 20 featured Dixon Mayor Glen Hughes discussing the city budget for this upcoming fiscal year and the slate of city council budget meetings to prepare the budget.

Managing Editor of the Dixon Telegraph and Sterling Gazette, Charlene Bielema reporting on a Whiteside County sexual abuse trial, a stabbing in Rock Falls, budget discussions locally and on the state level, local protests on immigration and a situation in Whiteside County involving a solar farm application.

She shares information on a recent public speaking contest winner announced and a look ahead to happenings on the 4-H and youth calendar of events including Youth for the Quality Care of Animals training seminar for showing livestock during the annual fair, the Project Pool event in April, scholarship opportunities, 4-H Summer Camp and 4-H Ambassadors needed.

The TALK-LINE interview for Tuesday, February 18 was with the Executive Director of the Lee County Industrial Development Association, Tom Demmer. Demmer looked back at 2024 as a successful year of business growth especially in the Gateway Expansion District in Dixon and the Dixon Industrial Park additions as well and a look ahead to possible opportunities in rural Lee County near Rochelle working on an industrial area there connecting to rail lines out of Rochelle.
