This week, we talk about one of the most dangerous dark magic that exists in the wizarding world, the horcrux. A horcrux is an magical object (or thing) that carriers a part of your soul, but to make one you have to commit a dark crime, murder. We first get mention of the horcrux in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and a certain dark wizard successfully creates a horcrux. We go over the implications that these dark magic holds and more.

Salazar Slytherin, the last of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. One of the greatest wizards of his time, but also a very secretive wizard as well. During his time, he was known to be a very strict individual and is said to have been involved in the Dark Arts. We learn later, centuries after his death, that Salazar was indeed involved in dark magic as well as created secret tombs and locations around Hogwarts.

The phoenix, a majestic creature in the wizarding world. The creature is also very rare and is said to have unique magical powers. Broomsticks are the normal way of travel in the wizarding world. Most families had at least one broomstick in their house to use as transportation. There were multiple companies that made broomsticks, most notably the Cleansweep Broom Company, Comet Trading Company, and the Nimbus Racing Broom Company.
