  • Discussing Sexual Identity with Your Kids: The G-Spot with Meka Rae
    Hi Bedroom Playmates
We are discussing how to talk to your kids about same sex love. Kids go to school and may have two same sex parents. How do you discuss with your child's teacher that she or her needs to make gifts for two mommies or daddies and not a mommy and daddy? How do you as heterosexual parents explain why little Molly has two mothers/daddies and not the "traditional" daddy and mommy? How do you handle being a "second" mommy or daddy to your child when you go to school functions? What if you child comes you and tells you that they are gay. lesbian, or interested in being the opposite than their birth? What does that conversation look like? Have you had the talk with your kids regarding gay marriage and what it looks like literally and figuratively?
This is going to be an interesting discussion.
I would love to hear from same sex parents, heterosexual parents of same gender loving childern or transsexual kids, etc.

    Lets learn and grow together
I look forward to hearing from you!

  • The Acappella Sounds of The Persuasions on Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne
We are so fortunate to have an original member of the stand out acappella group, The Persuasions, as a guest on the show.Mr. Jayotis Washington has agreed to spend some time telling us about the fascinating group that influenced the likes of Boys II Men. The Persuasions began singing together in Brooklyn, New York in the mid-1960s. They have performed in a wide range of musical genres and have hits that I personally grew up listening to. Another fascinating fact about Mr. Washington is that he is the father of friend of our show, Legendary House Music Diva Barbara Tucker. Be sure to tune in and get some history and hear some fabulous music.

  • The G-Spot with Meka Rae: Talking to Your Kids About Sex...
    Hi Bedroom Playmates
Join us tomorrow evening as we discuss having the sex talk with kids. How soon is too soon to have the talk about sex with kids? Why is it necessary for kids to learn about sex from their parents? Is sex something we should talk to our kids about or leave it to the school? If we have the sex talk with our kids what should we cover, how much is too much information to share, or is "too much" even a thing? Are you uncomfortable discussing sex with your child? If so, why?
Parents, lets have an open and candid discussion...
We want to hear from you!

  • The G-Spot with Meka Rae: Sexual Freedom vs Sexual Promiscuity...
    Hi Bedroom Playmates
We are discussing the if there is a difference between being sexually free and sexually promiscuous. If so...what is the difference and is it important?
Do you consider yourself sexually free because you tend to have a lot of female/male partners or is sexual freedom related more to exploring your sex life, trying new things in the bedroom, etc? Is there a way to safely express yourself sexually and not be called a "hoe," "manwhore," "slut," etc?
I want to discuss this topic with you all and hear your opinions!
    Lets chat!

  • Twin Spins on Brunch In The Basement With JaVonne
Today we're going to chill in the basement and listen to some music by some of my favortie artists, most of whom have already been guests on the show. The wonderful thing is that they have classic hits and newer music that is currently available on iTunes and other social media sites. It's important to me that we celebrate good music and support the artists who make us smile, feel, dance, groove, and fall in love. This music also reminds us of another time and people we havent thought of in a while. The new stuff is just as good and reminds us that it aint over til God says it's over! I'm always going to support those who support me, and I thank them and love them all for it!
