  • S3E06 - "A Mile In My Shoes"
    Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!! (It's been a while!)

Herb has been selected for jury duty. Our legal system may never be the same. He tries, of course, to get out of it. If only Andy hadn't been there to tip the Big Guy about the legal mumbo-jumbo!! Andy's concerned about the overdue clients, soooo...

Herb's off to jury duty, Andy's taking Herb's chair and Venus is getting a chance to P.D. in Andy's place. What could go wrong...right?

Sales isn't as easy as it looks, especially when you're selling WKRP. Andy adopts some worrying Herbisms as he attempts to out-maneuver some of Herb's deadbeat clients. Venus is working on an ulcer as he fights it out with Johnny. Hasn't he been watching ANDY fight it out with Johnny? The whole ordeal has the guys talking in unison, Andy putting goo in his hair and the Big Guy is heading out for a steam. What we've learned here is, when the going gets tough...the tough go for a steam!

  • S3E05 - "Hotel Oceanview"
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
Road trip! Herb, Andy and Art have piled into the Cordoba headed to Dayton.  What do they hope to accomplish on the mean streets of Dayton? They want to pitch a major advertiser! Vicky von Vickey Jeans is based in Dayton, of course, and the Mighty KRP wants a taste of those denim dollars.

Andy's on slide projector, Mickey's at the bar, Art's having a fruit fix and Herb has gotten himself in a fix. If anyone should speak to you in rhyme, tell them another time.

Your suite is ready at the "Hotel Oceanview"...just put a quarter in the podcast player and hit "play."

  • S3E04 - "The Baby"
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
Remember last season when Art and his lovely wife Carmen discovered they were pregnant?? In the world of WKRP, it must be nine months later!! Carmen is going to have a baby!!

After the cold open, the whole gang adjourns to a really COOL hospital set. It's so cool, this is where they will spend the rest of the episode. Not only are they doing this one without a radio station, they're also doing it without an audience. You can't have elaborate sets like these without sacrifice! Just how was WKRP able to afford such a cool set? Cancelled soap? Ahhh...gotcha!

Johnny was herbally meditating when Travis called him down to the hospital. His recreational endeavors may be why he's so open to a discussion of the afterlife with a sweet little old lady who goes by the awkward name of "Peggy Sue." And if you knew Peggy Sue like Johnny knows Peggy Sue...well, you'll just have to push 'play' and watch the episode!!

Art screws up his courage and the whole gang is there to welcome...well, we don't get a name. For that matter we also don't a gender, eye color or a length/weight. We're also curious as to the whereabouts of Mama Carlson. Maybe she's staying home with Little Arthur. So are Carmen's folks no longer with us? Good thing Art is so close with the gang at the station or he'd be all alone at the hospital. Push 'play' to experience the miracle of podcasting.

  • S3E03 - "Real Families"
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER EDITION OF THE "REAL FAMILIES" PODCAST!
Hold on!! Don't go anywhere! It's a joke...it's an allegory...it's an incredibly inventive way to tell a story! It's P.J. Torokvei being given a greenlight by Hugh Wilson to do one of the most incredible half hours of late 20th Century Television ever made.

    Or not...

"Real Families" could be hanging in a museum somewhere, endlessly debated by those who value and appreciate the formative capacity of television on society. Is this brilliant commentary? A weird focus on an unlikable character? Shrill satire? A little of Column A...?

This is truly the template for the cringy and hilarious documentary style perfected by "The Office." Don't touch that dial!! (a lot of people did). Hang in there. The rewards will be amazing. Got your popcorn? Just remember...even though they call it "Real" families, they're on TV, so it can't be THAT real, right?

  • S3E02 - "Jennifer Moves"
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
Jennie-poo bought a place in the ‘burbs. It’s a big old Victorian in need of a wealthy woman’s touch. Jennifer enlists the gang to help her move and everyone gets in on the act. We’re serious. It is, quite literally…a single act. All of the action in this one is continuous. Jennifer’s new home provides the perfect setting for a parade of zanies…the next door neighbors…the phone guy…the cops. It churns along at a breakneck pace, much like a runaway piano. Pour yourself a big slug of Sherry before the old lady grabs the bottle again. Les is hearing voices, Venus is doing voices and The Phone Guy is kinda creepy!!Put on your work gloves and push “play”…it’s time to help Jennifer Move!

  • S3E01 - "Airplane Show"
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
If there is one thing Les Nessman has always coveted, it is the ability to soar above the clouds. His greatest wish is the chance to report back to the ground about the wonders he has discovered...especially when it comes to traffic patterns in and around Cincinnati. WPIG has a brand new helicopter...the ONLY "Live Eye in the Sky" in the market!! There's a "copter gap" or somesuch...you'll have to ask Les.

Nessman can't stand it!! He does something...brash. Les hires an area crop duster to take him out over Cincinnati's highway system. Les somehow manages to establish a "plane to studio" link up. His first report takes place the day before Veterans Day. Art and Andy are mortified...Herb is amused...Johnny could care Les.

This is the first episode of Season 3. It was rushed to air in a week after the end of the Actor's Strike. The rushed production schedule, and a weird remote shooting schedule, give this episode a lurching, off-kilter quality. We've got a couple of Poster Watches...but no "Fashion Alert" or "Vibin' Threads."

Join us, Fellow Babies. We'll power through this one together even if our faces look like we just chugged Johnny's health drink!! Put your seats and tray tables in the full upright position, push 'play' and prepare for take-off!

  • S2E24 - "Most Improved Station"
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
It's media awards night in Cincinnati! Awards night means time to get out your best tux, slick back your hair, and mingle with folks you probably used to work with at one time. Any evening media function is usually a great place to get hammered with your work friends while not worrying about being at work. It's also a great place to catch up on the best gossip and scuttlebutt. If you're lucky, and somewhat good, you might also go home with a bit of hardware for the evening.

Johnny wins! The station does not. Johnny is named most popular air personality on a station of 5000 watts or less. The resulting clash amongst the KRP staff is ugly, but predictable. Fragile egos need stroking not battering. Even though Johnny seemingly doesn't care about the hardware, the fact he won is making everyone else in the station NUTS! Les is running around getting Primal (we'll explain). Andy has moved beyond his subtly violent threats to shouting in Les' face. It's not the most conducive work environment. It feels like someone should call a meeting!!

The airing of dirty laundry begins. At least, it's SUPPOSED to. Art can't get anyone to admit there might be a problem around the Mighty KRP. Jennifer brings the whole 'family' dynamic of the place to light with a sweet monologue about family and little sisters and lovable jackasses (Jennifer explains it better).

Push 'play'...it looks as though the lovely Celeste has an envelope with YOUR name on it!!

  • S2E23 - "Venus Rising"
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
We all know Venus is one talented nighttime guy. It's no surprise the Urban Powerhouse in Cincinnati is reaching out to WKRP's own Prince of Darkness. WREQ, 'the Ramblin' Wreck', is making an offer he might find hard to refuse. He’s staring down tons more money, and the coveted title of Program Director. Venus has a meeting scheduled. Turns out, Venus is the last to know about his offer. Les has already spread the word, having heard from the Wreck's news director.

Venus takes a meeting with a man made entirely of smarm. Hey, look, it's TERRY KISER!! Venus gets the nudge-nudge, wink-wink as Station Manager Jason Realli (Really?) mentions affirmative action and corporate policies. Red flags are flying all over the place for Venus. The only respite from the Storm of Smarm is the lovely African American receptionist at the Wreck. Is this "incredibly hot receptionist" thing a trend in Cincinnati? We should get funding for a study!!

Strap in, Young Executroids, MAX is about take us all on a tour of the sleazy world of corporately controlled radio. It's shiny and futuristic thoroughly nauseating.  The grim reality of Realli can be found quietly cranking out the tunes behind a set of mini-blinds. Automation has come to Cincinnati and Venus is only there to fill out some corporate scorecard for African-American hires. In this world, being black means everything...knowing what you're doing isn't even part of the equation.

Herb's exaggeratin', Andy's negotiatin' and Art's got pork-like products on his mind. Hit 'play' young Executroid...the Dr. will see you now.

  • S2E22 - "Filthy Pictures" (PT02 w/George Wyner)
Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
The hour long "Filthy Pictures" continues!! This week, it gets even BETTER! We've got comments with the Sleazy Photographer himself, George Wyner, throughout this week's episode.

You remember last time, we discovered that sleazy photog D. Arnold Gonzer took advantage of some legal-release mumbo-jumbo and shot revealing photos of our Ms. Marlowe. He plans to sell them to the highest bidder. Hmmm...what if that bidder turned out to be Johnny and Bailey? Er...ummm...Phillipe and Ginger?

It's a sting, it's a hoot...it's a WHOLE lot of purple. Is Gonzer Gay? Herb does his best to find out. You can push 'play' now...but fair warning: Phillipe will despise you whether you listen or not.

Send a note to Allen & Donna…WELCOME BACK!
This week's episode ran as a full hour. Since we didn't want to dump a two hour podcast on you...we're doing what they did with it in syndication: breaking it into two pieces.

Art Carlson is a civic-minded fella. We thought he was a Rotarian. Turns out, Art's a Kiwanian. Different name, different club, same sense of civic-duty. Art is in charge of the big fundraising fashion show this year, so he's turning to the gang for help. If for the kids and he needs models! He especially needs a smiling, happy couple to appear on the poster. Andy and Jennifer will fill the bill!! (and, they are the only two left after Art's big meeting).

The photographer taking the poster shots is 100% sleazy. He's a friend of Herb's, so go figure. He takes the pics...then he takes some EXTRA pix of Jennifer. She's unaware since he's shooting them through a one-way mirror into her DRESSING ROOM!!

Art discovers the photos and prosecutable hilarity ensues. A break-in! A sting! It's an hour loaded with very little radio business, but a TON of laughs! We'll get you to the break-in this week...then make sure to come back NEXT week for more picture retrieving schemes!!
