Tri-County health officials say our area is ready to move to phase 1-B plus of the COVID-19 vaccination process. 

Gov. J.B. Pritzker spoke Thursday about signing the recent police reform bill. He spoke in East St. Louis to talk about the bill that eliminates cash bail by 2023. He said the bill will "end the practice of detaining people pre-trial just because they're poor," Pritzker said.

ISU officials and law enforcement investigators are searching for an arsonist who reportedly set fire to the Horticulture building at Illinois State University. The department's director says at least $5,500 worth of supplies were destroyed, and they won't be covered by insurance.

Diana Schick, who reportedly caused a three-car wreck near Western and West Manor Parkway killing 30-year-old Cherish Coleman, has been formally charged in the court of law. She is indicted on charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a death.

Cyntoia Brown Long will be the keynote speaker at the Center for Prevention of Abuse's Light 2021 virtual conference. She was once in prison for 15 years for killing a man she claimed was abusive and forced her into prostitution. The event will take place May 12-13.
