After two incredible years of Women on the Brink, I’m reflecting on the conversations, stories, and connections that have shaped this journey. This podcast has brought me more curiosity, compassion, and a deeper desire to be part of my community. It has challenged me to look at my own beliefs, values, and the importance of creating healthy boundaries in my life. In many ways, this podcast has been my own form of therapy; a place of learning, growth, and connection.

I am so grateful to every guest who shared their story, and to every listener who took the time to join me along the way. As I close this chapter, I’m stepping into a new adventure — finishing my degree at university at 65! A path I never could have imagined five years ago.

My hope is that Women on the Brink has offered you encouragement, inspiration, and a reminder that it’s never too late to grow, change, and begin again. Thank you for being part of this journey. ❤️

  • If You Only Remember Three Things…

    Send us Fan Mail

After two years of learning from remarkable experts and listening to the stories of women just like you, I've realized that good health isn't about striving for perfection.  It's about making a few powerful decisions that shape the way we live every day.

In this episode, I share the three lessons that have changed me the most and the three truths I hope every woman remembers long after this podcast ends.

Which one speaks to you the most?

  • The Healing Era is Over. Now What?

    Send us Fan Mail

For years we've done the deep work. We've explored our past, understood our patterns, learned the language of healing, and found compassion for the women we've been. But what if this next season isn't asking us to analyze ourselves any further? What if it's asking us to create, to trust, to become visible, to stop asking for permission, and to courageously participate in the life that's already calling us? This conversation is for every woman who's ready to stop waiting for the "right time" and begin walking into the future that's been quietly waiting for her all along.

  • The Messenger on the Seawall

    Send us Fan Mail

Lately, I've been thinking about messages. Not because I've been receiving many, but because perhaps I haven't been paying enough attention. After hearing beautiful stories from a hospice nurse practitioner about unexpected messages, I found myself reflecting on three small encounters during a morning run: checking on someone who seemed to be struggling, asking cyclists to slow down for a family of Canada geese, and then being stopped by a stranger who thanked me and called me a saint. I don't believe that's who I am, but the timing made me wonder. Maybe messages aren't always dramatic. Maybe they come through everyday moments that remind us to notice, to care, and to remember teachings like Indinawemaaganidog and Ubuntu; that we are all connected. Sometimes the Creator doesn't speak through thunder. Sometimes the message arrives on a bicycle.

  • None of Us Can Truly Be Without "We." Ubuntu, Indinewemagadenoog, and the Wisdom of Belonging

    Send us Fan Mail

What if two cultures separated by continents arrived at the same profound truth? In this episode, I explore the African philosophy of Ubuntu alongside the Ojibwe teaching of indinewemagadenoog,"all my relations", while sharing my own journey of learning Ojibwe and reconnecting with my family's language. Together, we reflect on what these teachings reveal about community, belonging, and why our politics and our lives might be healthier if we remembered that none of us can truly be without "we."

  • What Anthropology Taught Me About Racism, Drugs & the Stories We Tell Ourselves

    Send us Fan Mail

I thought I was taking a course about drugs at University. Instead, I learned about race, power, history, and the stories we tell ourselves about addiction. In this episode of Women on the Brink, I share the lessons that shocked me the most; from the racial history of the War on Drugs to why some people are treated as criminals while others are seen as victims. We also explore how these issues affect women, Indigenous communities, and why education and empathy are essential if we want to build a more just Canada. I hope this conversation leaves you asking new questions, just as it did for me.

  • Are You Standing in Front of a Threshold?

    Send us Fan Mail

Today on the show, I explored the idea of threshold addiction, our tendency to pull back just as we're about to experience meaningful change. Whether it's pursuing a dream, sharing our work, starting a business, or stepping into a new version of ourselves, the closer we get to transformation, the more tempting it can be to retreat into what's familiar.

Maybe the biggest obstacles aren't a lack of talent or opportunity, but the discomfort of becoming someone new. The question is: What threshold are you standing in front of right now, and what might be waiting on the other side if you choose to step forward?

  • Madonna, Aging, Relevance, and Evolution

    Send us Fan Mail

This week on the podcast, we explore a question that goes far beyond Madonna, Pamela Anderson, or celebrity culture: What is the next song of our lives? As we age, evolve, and face changing identities, we're all challenged to ask whether we're becoming who we're meant to be next, or simply trying to hold on to who we once were. It's a thoughtful conversation about relevance, authenticity, growth, and the shift from proving ourselves to contributing something meaningful.

  • I Did the Thing

    Send us Fan Mail

Two years ago, I started a podcast to do something that terrified me: put my voice out into the world. And, almost 100 episodes later, I can officially say, I did the thing.

In today's episode, I'm sharing why I've decided that Episode 100 on August 6th will be the final episode of the podcast, how returning to university influenced that decision, and why sometimes completing a chapter is just as important as starting one.

The podcast will remain available until the end of 2026, so there's still plenty of time to revisit your favorites.

    Thank you for listening. ❤️

  • Are You The Hare or the Tortoise?

    Send us Fan Mail

The other day while running the Vancouver Seawall, I noticed something: lots of people passed me but I rarely passed anyone. Then Taking the Long Way by The Chicks came on, and suddenly it hit me: I’m the tortoise. I move slower than a lot of people when it comes to trusting myself and finding my way, and I almost always choose the less beaten path. Maybe that’s not a flaw. Maybe that’s totally OK. This week’s episode is about trusting your own pace.
