Jenny Greeinstein is a lesbian and a personal wardrobe stylist who supports women on their journey of bringing their style into alignment with their most authentic and empowered selves.
Even though most of her clients are not lesbians, Jenny herself is. She’s been with her wife, Dina, for over a decade and they are raising two daughters together.
Consider these important questions: How do you describe yourself? How do you describe your style? And do you feel that those two things are in alignment?
Jenny Greenstein is passionate about helping women explore these questions for themselves.
Her work is all about making women feel so strong and confident in their personal style that they can tune out all the external influences that don’t serve them.
During the interview Jenny and I discuss:

Dr. Lauren gets it, because she herself is a lesbian….
I love talking to lesbian therapists like Dr. Lauren, because they have both the professional experience and the lived experience to deeply understand lesbian lifestyles and relationships.
Could it be true that there’s a scientific reason why lesbian intimacy can feel more intense in the early stages of relationships than it feels for other groups?
In this episode of Women Wanting Women we talk about all of that and much more.
During the interview Dr. Lauren shares:

In Cameroon and lots of other African countries, being queer is illegal (sometimes punishable by death).
But what Kiki raises awareness about is that prior to colonization, many parts of Africa had a history of acceptance of queer relationships and gender fluidity. A lot of the anti-LGBT laws in African countries are leftovers of laws that were put in place by Britain, France and other colonizers, and the current governments are just upholding those old laws.
That’s why Kiki sells apparel inspired by LGBT and African history. Her idea was to use fashion as activism.
Kiki says: “Due to Africa’s colonial history there’s a conversation that homosexuality is ‘unAfrican’ – but that’s a myth – homosexuality is very much African”
For Kiki, mixing African queerness and African history is a kind of activism.

Lynda Spann is the founder of the Lesbian Couples Institute based out of Denver, Colorado.
We all know that lesbian dating is hard. So once we finally find love, we want to make sure that we do everything we can to build the best possible relationship with our partner.
What’s the best way for lesbians to build a great relationship, and what kinds of challenges can we expect to run into?
Obviously lots of relationship advice is universally applicable, and it doesn’t matter if you’re in a same-sex relationship or a heterosexual one. But it can’t be denied that the lived experience of being a lesbian in love with another woman does have unique differences. And who better to talk about this with than a marriage and family therapist who also happens to be a lesbian herself?
That’s why I was so excited to interview Dr. Lynda Spann.
In this episode Lynda Spann and I discuss:
This is an episode you don’t want to miss.
Lynda Spann, herself a lesbian, holds a PhD in marriage and family counseling and a Masters in human development and family studies.
Her mission is to be the person you can talk to when you and your partner feel disconnected and out of love and you want to give your relationship one last shot.
She founded The Lesbian Couples Institute in 2018, in Denver Colorado. Their motto is “love is a journey we take together.”

I met Ana Weisberger in 2018, through prior podcast guest Dr. Valerie Rein. We met when I was first starting this podcast and when she was transitioning her life and career.
During the first year of our friendship I watched as she fearlessly left her marriage and the brokerage firm she worked at, to start over and follow her heart.
Having already left her home country to start over, Ana is no stranger to making big changes.
She now coaches women who are going through major transitions, like divorce.
During this interview Ana Weisberger and I talk about:
I always enjoy my conversations with Ana, and I’m excited to be sharing this one on this episode of Women Wanting Women.
Ana Weisberger was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, and she spent her childhood in both Serbia and Sweden. Cassandra Vnook conceived of LetzB because she wanted more for the queer community.
But she wanted more than just “the same dive bar every night.”
The idea of LetzB is to offer different experiences with a different crowd.
Cassandra conceived of LetzB to offer the queer community something more fashionable. She says her inspiration was to build something like what the L word represents.
She’s a friend of mine, so I invited her on the podcast to talk about what she’s creating.
Want to hear some fun stories?
LetzB founder, Cassandra Vnook, talks openly in this episode about her first experiences with women, sneaking out of her house in high school, meeting other likeminded queers as a teenager, and getting into trouble.
In addition to founding LetzB, Cassandra is also a great story-teller, so this is a fun episode, not to be missed.
LetzB is an event producer and dating and community app for LGBT women. To learn more, visit their website letzb.com and follow them on Instagram @letzb.app

Jenny Plasencia is a New York City based healer of both body and spirit.
We met this past summer, and I could tell right away, based on her energy and wisdom, that I wanted to have her as a guest on the podcast.
Jenny Plasencia has seen first hand that optimism takes practice and even a simple shift, such as faking a smile, can go a long way for ourselves and the people around us.
Jenny Plasencia’s wish: that we all practice generating positive energy within ourselves as much as we can… and that we make our positivity contagious to others.
During this interview Jenny shares how all of us can:
In Jenny Plasencia’s experience… healing is always possible, but it takes practice and intentionality.
This is an episode you don’t want to miss.
Raised by two hard working first generation latinos and educated in Bronx public schools, Jenny Plasencia got her Bachelors Degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training at SUNY Brockport, worked as a graduate assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology in Football and Women’s Tennis, and earned a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine at Georgia State University.
For her first seven years after graduation, Jenny worked rehabilitating various injuries and built her own practice, helping seniors return back to normal activities by focusing on functional movements and assisting them with their nutrition.
And now, in addition to running her own practice, Jenny Plasencia works as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Education Teacher at Dalton School in Manhattan.

Samantha Fox is a NY-based licensed marriage and family therapist, in practice for 12 years.
Samantha Fox specializes in women who come out later in life.
And she should know.
Samantha Fox also came out later in her own life.
Married with three kids, she knew in the back of her mind she wanted to be with women. Until 9/11 happened, and she realized life could end faster than we think.
The painful experience of divorce and the breakup of her family left her wanting to use her training to help others going through it.
The name of Samantha Fox’s coaching program for women coming out later in life is Curious Questioning and Coming Out.
And during this episode of Women Wanting Women I had a great conversation with Samantha Fox about her own story and the work she does in the LGBTQ+ community.
In the interview Samantha Fox and I discuss:
