Confidence at work and in the bedroom comes from adopting a growth mindset!
This month our podcast features Dr. Kelly Casperson. Dr. Casperson is a urologist and coach who is interested in the power of our minds to change our views of sexuality. After a life-changing experience with a patient, she was inspired to combine her skills and knowledge as a surgeon with her earlier education as a neuroscientist to become a coach. She talked to me about her training and career as a female in the male-dominated world of urology and how the feeling of not belonging can shake your confidence. We talked about the cultural basis for feeling like you don’t belong and the universality of feeling like an outsider.
Dr. Casperson works as a coach for female surgeons as well as a coach for women wanting to improve their sexual health. We talked about how thoughts impact relationships and Dr. Casperson suggests that the brain is the biggest sexual organ. She delves into this with her podcast and work through "You are Not Broken."
As we went through some of the derailers of confidence, we focused on feeling not good enough and negative thoughts which Dr. Casperson describes as limiting beliefs. We talked about the interplay between thoughts, feelings, and actions and how to build relationships to feel empowered to succeed in your own individual way.
Join Beth as she speaks with Dr. Kelly Casperson about self-confidence, mindset, and addressing thoughts and feelings before actions.
