Following Jesus can be difficult especially when we begin to take our faith seriously. We can lose friends when we don’t want to do what they do anymore. We can get fired for refusing to lie for our boss. We don’t get those invitations anymore because nobody wants to hear us talk about Jesus. Today we will see how this plays out for Mary and Joseph as Joseph has a decision to make: Care more about what God thinks or care more about what others think. Join us as we continue through Luke today.
We TRY to be a good Christian. We try to read our Bible every day. We attempt to help people. We throw some money in the offering plate. But we often do those things in hopes that God will be happy with us. But is God impressed? Actually – NO! He wants us to do all those things but for a completely different reason. Join us as we talk about what that reason is in the book of Romans.
Life can be so difficult and when it is, we pray. And after we pray we wait for an answer but so often all we hear is silence. What do we do? Join us today to see why God doesn't always take away our pain or our bad circumstances.
We hate discipline. We hated it when we would get in trouble with our parents and they would ground us or take our phones away. But why did they do that? And better yet – why does God discipline us? Join us today to see why discipline is a good thing!
Sometimes, we have this view of Jesus that He was meek, mild, and always cheerful and happy. But that isn’t the biblical picture of Jesus. There were times when Jesus was angry. Righteously angry. Today, we see this as He takes a whip and clears out the Temple because the Religious Leaders had become about greed and not God. Then, we will discuss how that plays out regarding our modern-day Christian churches today.
Miracles. We all need them. So we pray and ask God for them. And then nothing happens. And prayer feels like a waste of time. It feels so defeating. So we think it might be best to just quit asking God for His help. But before you do that - let’s hear today why prayer really does work whether it is answered the way we want or not!
Mary is pregnant with Jesus. She is undoubtedly confused. She probably wonders – what is going on? She needs someone to talk to. This week Mary travels to her relative Elizabeth and Elizabeth will help Mary remember that no matter how bad it looks, no matter how much it doesn’t make sense humanly what has happened, God is right in the midst because He always has a plan.
Hypocrisy. We see it all around us from people claiming to be Christians who don’t actually ACT like Christians. Today we will ask this question: Are we living in such a way that people DON’T want to follow Jesus because of us? Are we saying one thing and doing another? Join us as we continue in Romans
The early church. How did they grow up in their faith? How did they learn about Jesus? How did they become powerful witnesses for Jesus? Well – it all began with a devotion – a commitment to four things and when we do these four things it will change our lives just like it did for the early followers of Jesus. Join us today to see what those four things are
So often Life changes in an instant. We wonder – what is God doing? We are confused. Today we will see how that plays out with Mary. Her life is going one way and suddenly an angel shows up and says “God has a different plan”. Join us today to see how to move from being confused to accepting God’s new plan for your life.
