    • #36: Being Sober Curious

In this episode, we are going to explore the topic of being Sober curious.  It's meaning and how I have explored this in my own life.

Being sober curious involves questioning your relationship with alcohol, why you drink, and how it makes you feel.   Sober curious is more of a choice to abstain from alcohol for some amount of time for physical, mental, or even spiritual benefits.  It also means questioning the way society can glorify the consumption of alcohol.  It’s about getting curious about what living a life without consuming alcohol might look and feel like in a world full of consumption.

If you do have a more serious issue, then know that there is support out there for you.  There are professionals and programs that will support you and help you in your recovery journey.  Please seek those.  When you have a problem, you don’t have to go at it alone.

      • #33: Creating an Evening Meditation Ritual that You'll Commit To

In this episode, we discuss ways to cultivate an evening meditation ritual that you can commit to.

Sitting down at the end of the day to collect your thoughts and meditate is incredibly transformative.  It allows yourself time to shift from the hustle of the day into the calm of the evening.  Instead of racing throughout your day and bringing that energy into the evening, you are mindfully transitioning from day into night, and that of work to that of rest.  This way you can stress less, sleep better, and encourage positive lifestyle practices.

We'll go through step by step how to create an evening ritual of meditation in the effort to make this a daily habit and part of your lifestyle (rather than something you try a few times and give up on).

        • #30: If you are a mother, know a mother, or want to be a mother, Postpartum Care with Jessica Glose

If you are a mother, know a mother, or want to be a mother, you'll want to tune into this episode with Postpartum Doula, Jessica Glose.

We dive into the importance of postpartum care and how the education of it is lacking in our culture.  We have to become our own advocates to create the postpartum experience that we all deserve.

Even by reframing how we look at our own cycles will help us prepare for the time after birth.  When we respect our monthly bleeds as mini postpartum times, we are that much more able to allow ourselves the time for rest and be better at receiving support.

We also learn that even if you gave birth 5, 10, 20 years ago, repair work can always be done.  Listen to our conversation and be inspired by the mothers in your life whether you are one, want to be one, have one, or know one.
