Hey I’m Baaaack!
Did you miss me? Did you notice?
For the last month I’ve been travelling, kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving, sleeping, swimming, reading books and sipping cocktails in the Australian tropics. AND I FEEL GREAT!
Super energised and bursting with enthusiasm to help as many people as possible this year and extra excited about working with people in my new Wonderful Web Leaders program (you can still join us by the way. I’d love to work with you http://wonderfulwebwomen.com/wonderful-web-leaders/).
Anyway, yesterday I shot a video for you just before I hopped on a ferry on Sydney Harbour. It is 3 minutes on a topic that most entrepreneurs do really, really badly and something that WILL make you miserable. Plus exactly what you need to do to fix it.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and I’d also LOVE to hear what you have been up to during the holiday break.
Cheers,
Janet
P.S. Want to see some holiday pictures? Ranging from giant mangoes to yachts to tropical waters? Share the fun over here.

Hello, and welcome. Janet Beckers here, with your Wonderful Web TV tip of the week, and I’m back after a month away. This week, I’ve got a message to share about something that us as entrepreneurs with online businesses do really, really badly. Let’s have a look.
I’m down here at beautiful Sydney Harbor with our icon of fun behind us, and I tell you what, when we build our businesses, we’re building something that was built on our passions and our dreams, and sometimes we can lose that fun, as we’re getting stuck into actually doing it. Apart from the fun, one thing that we do really, really badly as entrepreneurs, is totally, totally unplug, to allow yourself to really relax, have that fun, and just not be on call for anybody. Get offline. Just stop being available for people. Because with the internet, you can be available 24/7, you know what? A lot of us do tend to do that. My challenge to you is, if you want to be able to take a month off like I’ve just done now, and still have your business running, what do you need to do?
First thing you need to do is, you need to have systems in place, so that the business can still take over, can still be making money, and your customers can still be happy, while you’re sipping a cocktail somewhere. To do that, you have to really decide what the systems are that you’re going to do, and set the intention of getting somebody to support you as a virtual assistant, and setting the intention that you have got to have time off. What do you do if your business is at the stage where you can’t just take off? You haven’t got the systems. You haven’t got somebody to help you? Does that mean that you do not get to have a break, unplugged, for years, until it happens? No.
I want you to think about, what is the worst thing that can happen if you put up the “closed” sign on your business? Online, if you send out an email saying, “You know what? We are closed for business for a week, or a week-and-a-half, two weeks.” What’s the worst thing that can happen? You know what? You can do it. You can put that message there, so people don’t have the expectation, and commit to yourself to unplug. Really, just be honest with yourself. Is the world going to fall apart? Really? I’d love to hear from you. What stage are you at in business? Do you have those systems? Do you have the challenges there? I have ways to help you, that’s in all of my programs on how do you actually systemize, and get a virtual assistant, and get a holiday.
