    Luke 7:36-42a Freely Forgiven

    Lesson 2: (Part I) We should be __________ of our ________ (Part II) more than the ________ of ____________ (Luke 7:38-42; Psa 51:17; Rom 3:23; Pro 16:2, 21:2, 30:12; Jer 2:23, 35; 1 John 1:8, 10; Luke 6:41-42).

    Memory Verses: Psalm 125:1-2
Day 1: Read Luke 7:36-42a and discuss: What compelled the woman to come to Jesus? What lesson can we glean from her decision to come to Jesus? What sometimes hinders our relationship with the Lord? What can you do, today, to remove those hindrances (and repent, if necessary)? Who will you ask to pray for you, that you will have a more intimate relationship with Jesus?
Day 2: Read Luke 7:36-42a and Psalm 51:17 and discuss: Go through each of the woman’s actions; consider what each one revealed about her heart. Describe the last time you had a similar heart; describe the last time you were truly broken about your sin. Pray for yourself, your family, and your friends, that when you sin that there would be a similar response and brokenness.
Day 3: Read Luke 7:36-42a, 1 John 1:8-10, and Luke 6:41-42 and discuss: What sins, of your own, are you “most aware of”? Which sins are you most likely to ignore, minimize, or forget altogether? When was the last time you asked your spouse, or a parent, or close-friend, to (graciously and gently) point out some sins in your life for the purpose of repentance and making no future provisions for them (see Rom. 13:14)? What is holding you back from doing that now?
