Since the previous session about Holiness and what Holiness is in our last session, we actually defined Holiness as separation from the world and separation to God. That's what Holiness is. We establish the fact that Holiness is not piety, it is not religiosity. It is not ritual or ceremony or formalism. God is not a god of ritual formalism or ceremony. God is a god of Covenant. The scripture says, A covenant is a relationship between two people God, and you with no middlemen. And when we give God permission to take over our lives, God works Holiness in us and through us. We ask the question today: Is the so-called Church worldwide, asleep? And is it a sign of the last days? We begin our discussion with a quote from 2 Thessalonians 2 Verse 3 which says that the Son of Perdition the Antichrist will not arise until the falling away come first That falling away in the Greek of the New Testament is the Greek word. Apostasia from which we get the English word, apostasy, and this word actually means that in the last days, the church will become apostate. We talked about Deuteronomy chapter 28 where God said, behold I set before you this day a blessing and a curse, a blessing, if you obey the Commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day and a curse if you will not obey the Commandments of the Lord, your God, but turn aside out of the way, which I command you this day to go after other gods, which you have not known verses 26 to 28. Now, notice here that God says, if you obey, all of these blessings will come upon you and then from that point on there are on the page probably 16 or 18, different verses of blessings. And then he says a curse if you will not obey and there are about three to four pages of curses. We have been talking over the past several sessions about both water baptism by immersion and baptism in the Holy Spirit and today we continue our discussion and the proof scripture for water baptism has been Romans verses 3 and 4 which says that when we go down under the water, we enter into Christ's death with him with him.  Very important words. We enter into Christ at the with him and then it goes on to say that we come up in newness of life. This is more than symbolic.When we go down under the water and immersion baptism, this is representative of death and burial. Today we want to begin a discussion about the baptism in the Holy Spirit and what it is and why it's important to have it. In the New Testament Scripture, there are several baptisms mentioned. There are three in particular, which deserve emphasis not that the others are not important but these three take priority in our Christian faith walk. The first is called the baptism by water. We said in our previous broadcast that faith is an Old English word for trust, trusting on God, trusting on Christ, the Manifest Son of God and we said in our previous broadcasts that God is a faith God. God does everything by faith. He does everything by prayer and is our faith. That God honors. Faith changes Things. It changes circumstances faith can work miracles. Faith calls the things that are not as if they already are. We learn from Romans 4 speaking of Abraham's faith. Faith changes things.
