Nearing the end of the interlude between the 6th and 7th trumpet judgments, John is told to measure God’s temple. He also introduces us to two witnesses who prophesy with miraculous powers, before being killed by a beast rising from the abyss. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Today we’ll talk about Rev chapter 10. This chapter introduces an interlude between the 6th and 7th trumpet judgments, much as chapter 7 was an interlude between the 6th and 7th seals. This interlude extends from 10:1-11:14. This chapter features a mighty angel, a sealed message of 7 thunders and John eating a bitter-sweet scroll. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Welcome to Joshua 1:1-9. There’s a particular phrase in this passage that appears 3 times and it can be challenging for us to use in the right context. That phrase is be strong and courageous. We often say it or hear it quoted as a synonym for being tough and tenacious. It’s so encouraging. But there’s more to it than that so let’s settle in and find out exactly what it’s all about. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

Today we’ll talk about Rev 9. This chapter records the 5th and 6th trumpet judgments—the first two “woes” or “terrors.” The first four trumpet judgments had brought disaster upon nature. With the 5th and 6th, demons were sent to attack the people of the earth and torment them. Ironically, the demonic forces destroyed their own worshipers. They were sent against those who did not have the seal of God and had, therefore, chosen to side with Satan.  Thanks for listening. God bless you! In 1 Tim 6:3-10, the Apostle Paul warns Timothy against false teachers who exploit religion for financial gain. He also teaches that “godliness with contentment is great gain,” reminding Timothy that we brought nothing into this world and can take nothing out. And he explicitly warns that the desire to be rich creates a destructive trap. Then we get to verse 10, the verse in question today. Why do so many people misquote it? Is money really the root of all evil or is it something else? Let’s find out! Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.

Revelation 8 details the opening of the 7th seal, bringing a half-hour of silence in heaven. Then, an angel mixes incense with the prayers of the saints on the golden altar, then hurls fire from the altar to earth. Finally, four of seven trumpets will sound, unleashing ecological disasters upon the land, sea, rivers and heavens. Thanks for listening. God bless you! Jeremiah 29:1-14 contains a letter from the prophet Jeremiah to the exiled Israelites in Babylon. He instructs them to settle down, build homes and pray for their captors. He assures them of a future, promising that after 70 years, God will restore them to their homeland. Within this passage there is a very well-known verse (11) stating that God has “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Sadly, this verse is often misquoted and used in the wrong context. We’re going to talk about so come join us for an inspiring journey through the Word of God. Thanks for listening. God bless you! To find out more about our church please go to www.whccnb.org.
