Today we’ll talk about Rev 7. This chapter serves as an encouraging interlude between the 6th and 7th seals. It’s outlines two primary visions: the sealing and supernatural protection of 144,000 Jewish servants on earth, followed by a triumphant multitude of believers from all nations worshiping in heaven. People commonly misquote Matthew 7:1-6 as a blanket command to never criticize, correct or evaluate anyone else’s behavior. This misinterpretation treats verse 1 (“Do not judge, or you too will be judged”) as an absolute rule, ignoring verses 2-6, which clarify that Jesus is actually condemning hypocrisy and harsh, self-righteous condemnation. Jesus doesn’t say that correcting someone’s faults (removing the speck) is inherently wrong. Instead, He commands people to address their own, much larger moral failings (the log or plank) first. In this way, Jesus isn’t saying to ignore sin; He is saying to approach correction with humility and self-awareness, rather than hypocrisy. Thanks for listening. God bless you! As chapter 6 begins, Jesus opens the scroll by breaking the first 6 seals. NOTE: The scroll won’t be completely opened until Jesus opens the 7th seal which will be in chapter 8. Matthew 18:15-20 outlines Jesus’ instructions for handling interpersonal conflict within the church. He establishes a constructive, three-step approach—private conversation, mediation with witnesses and church involvement—with the primary goal of restoring relationships. It also affirms the spiritual authority and divine presence accompanying community discipline. But, verses 18-20 are often misquoted which change the intent of Jesus’ teaching. Psalm 31 is a passionate lament and psalm of trust written by King David. In today’s journey we’ll witness David pouring out his heart about facing enemies, sickness and betrayal. But we’ll find he ultimately trusts God with his life and future putting it all into God’s caring hands. Today is Jesus’ letter to the 7th church, Laodicea. This letter was a severe and urgent message. The Laodiceans were smug, self-sufficient and “lukewarm,” having locked Christ out of their lives while falsely believing they needed nothing. Jesus asked them to trade their material complacency for true, spiritual wealth, offering them fellowship and a place to reign with Him. Then came the warning in verse 22 because it functioned as a wake-up call and implored the listeners to heed the warning, abandon their self-reliance and respond to Christ’s invitation to repent.
