On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump held a rally where he told his supporters their votes had been stolen, and their country had been stolen. He encouraged them to march to the capitol building and fight for the country they wanted. Obeying their lord and master, they broke into the capitol building, overpowering capitol police, destroying property and spreading misinformation in real time.
Trump sat at home for 4 hours watching and refusing to take any action to defuse the situation, leading to the second impeachment of his presidency. Joe invites a very triggered Andrew Kroepel onto the show to discuss the new HBO documentary chronicling the January 6 insurrection and discussing the year since.
