Like Virgil leading Dante up mount Purgatorio, the Wordle Friends must pay the price of time, wretched time, oh endless, wretched time, to solve the puzzle and be set free to return their lives.

If cheeba be the food of love, toke on.  But whether the devil's lettuce is a gateway to creativity or the harder stuff, the Wordle Friends will need to wipe the haze from their bloodshot eyes in order to see today's five-letter solution.

The balancing pendulum of April, uneasy as it is even, teeters yet again.  To one Wordle Friend or the other?  Can you sense the seismic creaks and groans beneath your feet to anticipate the victor?

As rapid, alternating wins in the month of April begin to resemble the give and take of a fencing match, The Wordle Freinds enter the piste and then en garde, approach, feint, guard, lunge, parry, riposte, recover, and fleche.

If freindship is the sunflower of late summer, then betrayal is a weevil, gorging on its tender bracts.  The Wordle Freinds may need to break out the bugspray.

"The Lord will pass to smite the Egyptians, and He will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and the Lord will pass over the entrance, and He will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses to smite you." - The Wordle Friends, Exodus Chapter 12

After a perfectly accidental chain of events, the Wordle Friends find themsevles at a blind standoff, with Schrondinger's cat guarding the solution like cerberus before the gates of the underworld.

Some believe that the vastness of suffering on Earth is evidence against the existence of God, imagining our absent cosmic ruler as some loving humanitarian.  But the fingers at the switchboard of the universe do not concern themsevles with our contentedness.  As the Wordle Friends have witnessed time and again, balance is their sole principle.

Today the Wordle Friends are reminded that the thrill of victory does not exist without the agony of defeat.
