An atheist/agnostic friend went to Miami with me Saturday. It is a 1 1/2 hour drive each way and we stopped for lunch which provided a great opportunity to witness to him again for the umpteenth time. He is a good friend and it breaks my heart that he solidly refuses to even discuss the possibility of God’s existence. I was eating lunch in a small restaurant in the tiny community, (population 90) of Escarpment Wyoming one weekend a few years ago now. This establishment could have been right out of the movie set for Jeremiah Johnson and the owner fit the part. He could have played any of the mountain men in that movie and he did not need a costume or coaching. He was a big man and rough looking. Yesterday I was talking to one of the painters that has been working on my house. He was sitting outside on his lunch break smoking a cigarette. I smiled and told him that those things would kill him, and he smiled back and said he knew it and kept right on smoking. I rode down the street and saw a kid on a bike riding along vaping. He couldn’t have been more than 15. Over the weekend an article ran concerning Justice Kavanaugh. It involved yet another salacious accusation of an alleged incident that occurred at a party many years ago. Immediately practically every Democrat presidential hopeful indicated that he should be immediately impeached as did the degenerates in Hollywood. So, this morning it was grudgingly revealed by the New York Times that the woman who allegedly was the victim of Kavanaugh’s behavior has no recollection of it and has refused to discuss it. I was awakened last night by thunder, lightning, and pounding rain. Yes, yet another tropical storm is heading our way and we are in the leading edge of it as I write this post. Those poor souls in the Bahamas who just got hit are in the cone too and I feel sure they are getting rain as well. They are located just 56 miles from where I live. There is nothing much left for the wind and rain to destroy in the Bahamas. Over 2500 people are still missing and the homes and businesses located on the Abaco and Grand Bahama Islands were completely destroyed.
