In this prayer we confront a quiet but powerful reality many people live with: giving our best energy to survival while leaving our own purpose, with whatever remains. In a world that is rapidly changing and being redefined and redesigned, this prayer invites us to stop placing our dreams at the bottom of the pile. It is not a rejection of responsibility, work, or the commitments that sustain our lives. Instead it is a call to treat our energy as sacred and to intentionally, carve space for the work that helps us become, who we were created to be. So, with clarity, maturity, and faith, we declare that our dreams will no longer live on leftovers, it will receive the time, space, focus, and intention needed to grow.

In this prayer, we pause to acknowledge a truth many of us quietly feel, but do not always say out loud: the life we desire is connected to work we cannot skip. This prayer calls us into a season of honest participation in our own becoming. Together, we ask God to help us embrace the work of our lives without resentment, without fear, and without quitting — trusting that the future we want is built through faithful steps taken one day at a time.

In a world that rewards productivity and constant availability, it is possible to be busy and still unwell. This prayer centers on tending to the inner life — guarding the heart, nourishing the soul, and protecting peace. Rooted in 3rd John 1:2, it reminds us that true prosperity begins within. When the soul is healthy and the heart is guarded, everything else flows strength and clarity.

This Sunday Prayer is rooted in the scripture, whereby Jesus issues the call “Come Into Me, and I will give you rest”. That is for all of us, simply because rest is exactly what so many of us need. The “Rest Is For Us” and we really need to answer the call to come, because Jesus is handing it out. On this Sunday we are invited to be open and in the receiving mode.

Sometimes we waste precious energy defending ourselves against identities that were never ours. This prayer reminds us that our worth, calling, and authority come from God — not from other people’s projections. When you know who you are, you stop arguing, and start walking. Today is about reclaiming your God-given identity and losing those others try and affix upon you.

Lent is a season of reflection, prayer, and spiritual honesty. Sometimes what rises in us during this season is not strength — but fear. After Elijah’s great victory came a threat that sent him running. This prayer speaks to those moments, when valleys follow mountaintops and doubt follows breakthrough. It reminds us that feat after victory does not mean God has left — and that in every season, we are invited to stay close to God, as God stays close to us.

Sometimes we pray to escape hard sessions. This prayer invites us to mature inside them. “Grow Me Through This” is a soul centered reminder that pressure is not always punishment — it is often designed to bring development. When life stretches us, delays us, or challenges us, God is not abandoning us, God is strengthening us. This prayer helps us shift our mindset from survival to spiritual growth.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PODCAST:
The vision for “Words For The Soul, Food For The Heart” was born during the Covid-19 pandemic — during a season when the world slowed down, church doors closed, and many people found themselves searching for hope, comfort, strength, and connection. As a pastor, I was determined to stay connected to the congregation and community I served. Week after week, I searched for creative ways to encourage people during uncertain and emotionally heavy times.
What began with simple cellphone video messages and Facebook Live moments eventually grew into something much larger — a calling to speak life, hope, healing, encouragement, and strength not only to a local congregation, but to listeners everywhere.
Today, this podcast reaches people across cities, states, and countries with one consistent mission:
To help people feed their soul before they face their day.
Thank you for allowing this podcast to be part of your life journey. My prayer is that every episode leaves you stronger, wiser, more hopeful, and reminded that God is still present in your story.
with Love,
Jackie W.
