In a world where conflict, uncertainty, and tension often dominate the headlines, this prayer centers the heart on a simple but powerful request: “God, give us peace.” Drawing from the spirit of Psalm 68, the prayer acknowledges the reality of turmoil in the world while placing ultimate trust in God’s wisdom, justice, and guidance. It lifts up the longing shared by so many people—for calm, safety, and a world where families and communities can live and flourish without fear. As the prayer unfolds, it moves from petition to hope, reminding listeners that even in uncertain times we do not surrender faith, kindness, or the belief that goodness still matters. It is both a prayer for the world and a prayer for the people who must live in it.

This gentle prayer invites listeners to begin the day with calm hearts and open spirits. Drawing on the imagery of God as our Shepherd who leads us beside still waters, the prayer encourages us to slow our pace, notice the quiet blessings around us, and walk forward with trust and peace. In the midst of everyday life, even the smallest moments—a breeze, a conversation, a quiet walk—can carry the goodness of God. Today we welcome the light, the calm, and the simple beauty of the day before us.

After a week of deep reflection and sacred inner work, this prayer invites listeners into a moment of release and renewal. “Wash Me Over Again” is a quiet spiritual “exhale” — an opportunity to let go of the emotional weight of the week and allow God’s peace to settle over the heart, mind, and spirit.
In this prayer we remember that healing is not only found in facing the hard things in life, but also in allowing ourselves to be restored after the work is done. As the week closes, we release what we have carried, trust God with what we have let go of, and receive the calm that prepares us for the days ahead.

Many people carry old words, old doubts, and old limitations spoken over their lives years ago. This prayer invites listeners to confront those lingering voices and release the power they once held. Rather than denying the past, the prayer encourages a sacred act of freedom — letting go of the influence those memories have had over our thinking and identity. With God’s help, listeners are reminded that their future is not defined by someone else’s doubts. By releasing what once held them back, they can step forward lighter, clearer, and stronger to continue the work that still, lies ahead.

In a world that constantly pushes us to keep moving, many people feel guilty when they pause. This prayer reframes rest as wisdom rather than weakness. Rest is not abandoning purpose — it is restoring the strength needed to continue the work we are called to do. Listeners are encouraged to slow down, breathe, and understand that strategic rest strengthens focus, renews clarity, and prepares the heart for the next faithful step. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pause long enough to regain the strength needed for the work we cannot, skip!

In this prayer, we pause to confront a quiet truth: many of us are not stuck, because we lack vision or ability — we are overwhelmed simply because we are somewhat scattered. Surrounded by endless options, responsibilities, and expectations, it becomes easy to divide our attention and lose focus on the work, that truly moves our lives forward. This prayer asks God to help us narrow, the lane, calm the noise, and give us the discipline to focus on the “one thing” that matters, most right now. Rather than chasing everything at once, we learn to build patiently, step by step, trusting that steady attention to the right work, will lead us toward the life we desire.

Life often places us in many different spaces — work spaces, family spaces, decision spaces, and stretching spaces. In each of these places, God is quietly at work cultivating something powerful within us through the process of growth, learning, and transformation.

This prayer helps us shift how we see our past effort, experiences, and years of work. What may have once felt like exhaustion or time spent building someone else’s vision is reframed as preparation, for what lies ahead. We are reminded that the lesson, skills, wisdom, and resilience gained along the way, are not wasted — they are valuable assets, for the future we are now building. Rather than beginning empty or behind, we are move forward equipped as seasoned, and ready to apply what life has already taught us. The work is not starting over, it is stepping forward with knowledge, insight, and experience that will strengthen every step we take.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PODCAST:
The vision for “Words For The Soul, Food For The Heart” was born during the Covid-19 pandemic — during a season when the world slowed down, church doors closed, and many people found themselves searching for hope, comfort, strength, and connection. As a pastor, I was determined to stay connected to the congregation and community I served. Week after week, I searched for creative ways to encourage people during uncertain and emotionally heavy times.
What began with simple cellphone video messages and Facebook Live moments eventually grew into something much larger — a calling to speak life, hope, healing, encouragement, and strength not only to a local congregation, but to listeners everywhere.
Today, this podcast reaches people across cities, states, and countries with one consistent mission:
To help people feed their soul before they face their day.
Thank you for allowing this podcast to be part of your life journey. My prayer is that every episode leaves you stronger, wiser, more hopeful, and reminded that God is still present in your story.
with Love,
Jackie W.
