This prayer centers on the quiet, but powerful decisions we make each day — especially in moments when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. It reminds us that while we cannot control everything around us, we can choose how we respond. Through intentional language and steady reflection, this prayer guides listeners to move from reaction to response, from chaos to clarity, and from fear to faith. Each choice becomes an act of strength. Day 252 Rebroadcast.

Today is a call to go … and grow. It’s the work of going ahead and facing life, growing, and acknowledging that moments of escape, real forms of retreat helps us more than anything. Jesus often found time to retreat away for rest. Our challenge sometimes is to do this without actually pulling away from everything and everybody. Today find moments when you can actually get some rest.

Prayer is not an exercise in futility. It is the doorway to answers God has already given. Today’s prayer is built on the words Jesus himself taught his disciples to pray in Luke 11:2-4 — and then takes us deeper into what it means to actually walk in those answered prayers. Today we pray over households. Over women interceding for their families. Over men being their best selves, because those who love them are truly standing in their corner. Over children and the ones grown and gone. Over healing in every place and space we find ourselves.

Today’s prayer is an act of remembering the week we just came through and that regardless of how the week treated us, we made it. The call is to grab hold to gratefulness, because we have a lot to be thankful and grateful about.

Today’s prayer meets people exactly where they are: Those who are hustling to keep it together. The ones who are standing in the gap. Teachers stepping into new spaces. Those carrying double-loads. The ones battling - battling whatever they must battle today. This is not a defeated prayer. This is a prayer of power, hope, and strength. Keep going! Keep standing! Keep Your head to the sky!

Some days knock you down, but they don’t get too keep you there. This prayer is for everybody who had a knockdown and might be struggling emotionally, physically, spiritually even. Yet today is choosing to get back … up — because quit isn’t in us. Rooted in Galatians 6:9 and 2nd Chronicals 15:7, this is a declaration that we are not going out like an unlit flame. We are on the right side, we are not quitting, and we are about to win. Press play and tell yourself: “I’m up now!”

Some days are just hard. Things fall apart. Frustration builds. And the invitation and call to praise your way through it, comes! You resist it, But the call to praise God, when you don’t feel like it, persist. Not because suddenly everything works itself out, or the frustration has gone away. But because praise is how praying people find their way back to the center. The way we find our way back to God. Imperfect praise. Still-working -through-it-praise. Today’s prayer meets us in that place. Real praise.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PODCAST:
The vision for “Words For The Soul, Food For The Heart” was born during the Covid-19 pandemic — during a season when the world slowed down, church doors closed, and many people found themselves searching for hope, comfort, strength, and connection. As a pastor, I was determined to stay connected to the congregation and community I served. Week after week, I searched for creative ways to encourage people during uncertain and emotionally heavy times.
What began with simple cellphone video messages and Facebook Live moments eventually grew into something much larger — a calling to speak life, hope, healing, encouragement, and strength not only to a local congregation, but to listeners everywhere.
Today, this podcast reaches people across cities, states, and countries with one consistent mission:
To help people feed their soul before they face their day.
Thank you for allowing this podcast to be part of your life journey. My prayer is that every episode leaves you stronger, wiser, more hopeful, and reminded that God is still present in your story.
with Love,
Jackie W.
