And if [we are His]  children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory. Romans 8 : 17

Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.  2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good  and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. Romans 12 : 1-2

He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit, Titus 3 : 5

And in accordance with this will [of God] we [who believe in the message of salvation] have been sanctified [that is, set apart as holy for God and  His purposes] through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ (the  Messiah, the Anointed) once for all.

11 Every priest stands [at his altar of service] ministering daily, offering the same sacrifices over and over, which are never able [a]to strip away sins [that envelop and cover us];  12 whereas Christ, having offered the one sacrifice [the all-sufficient sacrifice of Himself] for sins for all time, sat down [signifying the completion of atonement for sin] at the right hand of God [the position of honor],  13 waiting from that time onward until his enemies are made a footstool for His feet.  14 For by the one offering He has perfected forever and completely cleansed those who are being sanctified [bringing each believer to spiritual completion and maturity]. So I, the  prisoner for the Lord, appeal to you to live a life worthy of the  calling to which you have been called [that is, to live a life that  exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature  behavior—a life that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation], Ephesians 4 : 1

7 You must submit to [correction for the purpose of] discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons; for [d]what son is there whom his father does not discipline?  8 Now if you are exempt from correction and without discipline, in which all [of God’s children] share, then you are illegitimate children and not sons [at all].  9 Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we submitted and respected them [for training us]; shall we not much more willingly submit to the Father of [e]spirits, and live [by learning from His discipline]?  10 For our earthly fathers disciplined us for only a short time as seemed best to them; but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.  11 For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems sad and painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness [right standing with God and a  lifestyle and attitude that seeks conformity to God’s will and purpose]. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [which represents all that Jesus  Christ is and does], so that you will know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have eternal life.

Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him entered the ark to escape the flood waters.

For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.

But the one who endures and bears up [under suffering] to the end will be saved.

You have been severed from Christ, if you seek to be [a]justified  [that is, declared free of the guilt of sin and its penalty, and placed in right standing with God] through the Law; you have fallen from grace  [for you have lost your grasp on God’s unmerited favor and blessing].

For [it is impossible to restore to repentance] those who have once been enlightened [spiritually] and who have [a]tasted and consciously experienced the heavenly gift and have shared in the Holy Spirit,

26 For if we go on willfully and deliberately sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there  no longer remains a sacrifice [to atone] for our sins [that is, no  further offering to anticipate],  27 but a kind of awful and terrifying expectation of [divine] judgment and the fury of a fire and burning wrath which will consume the adversaries [those who put themselves in opposition to God].  28 Anyone who has ignored and set aside the Law of Moses is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.  29 How much greater punishment do you think he will deserve who has rejected and trampled under foot the Son of God, and has considered unclean and common the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and has insulted the Spirit of grace [who imparts the unmerited favor and blessing of God]?
