Over the last years, however, more and more solutions to development challenges are coming from the global South. These countries want to learn from the practical experiences of others and share lessons of their own.

rvind Gupta, Lead Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank Institute will argue, based on examples and data, that social entrepreneurs and the social enterprise sector are now ready to share center stage with the public sector and the private sector in producing growth with equity.

The webinar will demonstrate that social entrepreneurs combine the conscience of a social activist, the public service delivery mandates of the public sector and the business discipline of the private sector. And, by doing so, social entrepreneurs are one of the most effective development channels for simultaneously improving both technical and allocative efficiency. In effect, social entrepreneurs are the best way to achieve open competitive markets for inclusive growth.

The webinar will present the Development Marketplace's new strategy and mechanisms for surfacing, incubating and funding operational social enterprises that are ready to go to scale in a financially viable manner. Development Marketplace hopes to use the webinar to solicit feedback and suggestions on its strategy and how to build a strong community of social entrepreneurs.

The discussion centers around big c, and large sized entities (big government, big labor unions, etc.) which are usually powerful and pose a systematic risk to the economies. Policy options of dealing with large entities are discussed.
