Head Start in Dane County and throughout the country were jolted by the abrupt Federal freeze in funds that happened on January 28th. They were not able to access critical funds for many days, forcing them to borrow money to meet payroll and other basic obligations. Labor Radio spoke with Jen Bailey, the executive director of ReachDane and the Board President for the Wisconsin Head Start Association, about the impact of the freeze and ongoing threats to funding.
